Hello everyone, I’m Lorentm, a digital artist passionate about bringing characters to life through illustration. Welcome to my art blog, where I love sharing my creative journey and the stories behind my artworks. Today, I’m incredibly excited to present to the @holozing community my latest piece, inspired by one of their characters, Fal.
Fal is a fascinating character—mysterious, strong, and full of potential. As soon as I saw him, I imagined him in a darker, more heroic light, like a guardian of the night. This idea resonated deeply with me, and I knew I wanted to create something that would showcase him as more than just a bird-like figure. I envisioned him as a humanized superhero, standing tall and determined, much like Batman watching over his city.
While working on this piece, I felt immersed in the idea of turning Fal into a symbol of vigilance and strength. His sharp gaze, heroic pose, and overall aura gave me the perfect canvas to explore a blend of anime aesthetics and comic-style superhero elements. This made the creative process both challenging and rewarding.
I want to give a warm hello to all of the @holozing community and express how thrilled I am to share this fan art with you all. This project was not just about drawing—it was about celebrating a character I admire and transforming him into something new while keeping his essence alive.

> Fal es un personaje fascinante: misterioso, fuerte y lleno de potencial. Desde que lo vi, lo imaginé en una versión más oscura y heroica, como un guardián de la noche. Esta idea resonó profundamente en mí, y supe de inmediato que quería crearlo como algo más que una figura de ave. Lo visualicé humanizado, como un superhéroe, de pie con determinación, al estilo de Batman vigilando su ciudad.

> Durante el proceso de creación me sentí inmersa en la idea de convertir a Fal en un símbolo de vigilancia y fortaleza. Su mirada penetrante, su pose heroica y su aura general me dieron el lienzo perfecto para explorar una fusión entre estética anime y elementos de superhéroes de cómic. Esto hizo que el proceso creativo fuera desafiante y a la vez muy gratificante.

In this artwork, Fal appears as a humanized superhero. His hair is wild and windswept, symbolizing his untamed spirit, and his sharp green eyes are filled with determination. I gave him a strong, muscular build to emphasize his heroic presence. His costume mixes earthy tones of brown, beige, and black, paired with a long cape that flows behind him, reminding us of his origins as a bird while anchoring him in the superhero archetype.
The scene portrays Fal standing tall against the backdrop of a city at night. The glowing signal in the sky projects the silhouette of a falcon, a call for his vigilance, echoing the iconic style of Batman’s Bat-Signal. The city lights twinkle below, while the stars and moon add an air of mystery. Together, these elements create a dark but powerful atmosphere, perfect for a nocturnal guardian.
> En esta obra, Fal aparece como un superhéroe humanizado. Su cabello es alborotado y agitado por el viento, símbolo de su espíritu indomable, y sus intensos ojos verdes reflejan determinación. Le di una complexión fuerte y musculosa para enfatizar su presencia heroica. Su traje combina tonos terrosos de marrón, beige y negro, acompañado de una larga capa que ondea detrás de él, recordándonos sus orígenes como ave, pero también encajando en el arquetipo de superhéroe.

The first step in bringing Fal to life was sketching. I started with quick, loose strokes to define his posture, proportions, and overall stance. I wanted him to look powerful yet approachable, so the sketch stage was crucial for capturing the essence of his heroic figure.
Once the sketch felt right, I moved on to line art. Clean, sharp lines gave structure and clarity to the design. This step is always one of my favorites because it transforms an idea into a defined character with personality and strength.
Coloring was the stage where Fal truly began to emerge. I chose earthy shades that connect him to his avian roots, while also giving him the appearance of a grounded, mysterious protector. The balance of warm and dark tones helped highlight both his humanity and his superhero aura.
Shading brought depth and dimension to the piece. By carefully layering shadows across his muscles, cape, and face, I was able to give him a more realistic and dramatic feel. The shadows also emphasized the nocturnal and somber tone I wanted to convey.
Highlights came next, adding a sense of vitality to the drawing. The shine in his hair, the subtle glow on his costume, and the light reflecting from the city brought energy to the character, as if he were alive and ready to leap into action at any moment.
Finally, the background tied everything together. The starry sky, the glowing falcon signal, and the cityscape below set the perfect stage for Fal. The atmosphere added context to his role as a night guardian, making the artwork feel complete and immersive.
> El primer paso para dar vida a Fal fue el boceto. Comencé con trazos rápidos y sueltos para definir su postura, proporciones y la fuerza de su figura. Quería que se viera poderoso pero cercano, así que esta etapa fue clave para capturar la esencia de su carácter heroico.

> Una vez que el boceto estuvo listo, pasé al delineado. Líneas limpias y definidas dieron estructura y claridad al diseño. Este paso siempre es de mis favoritos, porque transforma una idea en un personaje definido, lleno de personalidad y fuerza.

> El coloreado fue la etapa donde Fal realmente comenzó a tomar forma. Elegí tonos terrosos que lo conectan con sus raíces de ave, pero que también le dan la apariencia de un protector enigmático y con los pies en la tierra. El balance entre tonos cálidos y oscuros resaltó tanto su humanidad como su aura de superhéroe.

> Las sombras aportaron profundidad y dimensión a la obra. Al aplicar cuidadosamente sombras sobre sus músculos, su capa y su rostro, pude darle un aspecto más realista y dramático. Las sombras también reforzaron el tono nocturno y sombrío que quería transmitir.

> Después vinieron los brillos, que añadieron vitalidad al dibujo. El resplandor en su cabello, el sutil brillo en su traje y la luz reflejada de la ciudad le dieron energía al personaje, como si estuviera vivo y listo para entrar en acción en cualquier momento.

> Finalmente, el fondo unió todo en armonía. El cielo estrellado, la señal del halcón en el cielo y la ciudad iluminada crearon el escenario perfecto para Fal. La atmósfera dio contexto a su papel como guardián nocturno, haciendo que la obra se sintiera completa e inmersiva.

The tools I used for the drawing were the following:

* Capacitive pen (Stylus).
* Ibis Paint X program.
* Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
