Hello everyone! My name is Lorentm, and I’m very excited to welcome you to my blog. Today, I want to share with you a special digital artwork I created for the amazing community of @holozing. This piece is part of the yearly challenge they organize, the famous Zingtober, and I decided to bring to life one of their charming characters with today’s keyword: Mustache.
Working on this character was both fun and inspiring. His name is Wrackoo, and he immediately caught my attention with his elegant yet playful design. There’s something very unique about creating a drawing that captures not just the appearance, but also the personality and story behind a character.
Wrackoo has a distinguished aura that makes him feel like a gentleman straight out of a vintage tale. His style, the monocle, the cane, and of course that glorious mustache, all contribute to a personality that feels refined and a little mysterious. I truly enjoyed immersing myself in his essence as I worked on this piece.
I’d like to give a warm hello to all the @holozing community, and also a heartfelt thank you to @acidyo and @holozing for always supporting my creations and encouraging artists like me to continue sharing our work.

Esta pieza forma parte del reto anual que organizan, el famoso Zingtober, y decidí dar vida a uno de sus encantadores personajes con la palabra clave de hoy: Bigote.
> Trabajar en este personaje fue divertido e inspirador. Su nombre es Wrackoo, y me llamó la atención de inmediato con su diseño elegante pero juguetón. Hay algo muy especial en crear un dibujo que capture no solo la apariencia, sino también la personalidad y la historia detrás de un personaje.
> Wrackoo tiene un aire distinguido que lo hace sentir como un caballero salido de un cuento clásico. Su estilo, el monóculo, el bastón y, por supuesto, ese bigote glorioso, contribuyen a darle una personalidad refinada y con un toque de misterio. Disfruté mucho sumergirme en su esencia mientras trabajaba en esta obra.

Wrackoo is not just a character with a mustache; he embodies sophistication. His well-groomed fur flows into a thick mustache and a styled tuft on his head, which make him instantly recognizable. He wears a tailored suit, complete with a bow tie and vest, and carries a shiny cane that gives him an air of authority. A monocle rests on one of his eyes, attached to a delicate chain, adding the perfect finishing touch to his aristocratic look.
The background I chose complements Wrackoo’s elegance with a patterned wall that feels reminiscent of old luxurious wallpaper, setting the stage as if he were posing in a lavish Victorian salon. The tiled floor gives him grounding, making it seem like he’s stepping forward to greet the viewer with confidence and charm.
> Wrackoo no es solo un personaje con un bigote; él encarna la sofisticación. Su pelaje bien cuidado fluye en un bigote espeso y un mechón estilizado en la cabeza, que lo hacen inmediatamente reconocible. Viste un traje hecho a la medida, con chaleco y moño, y sostiene un brillante bastón que le da un aire de autoridad. Un monóculo descansa en uno de sus ojos, sujeto con una delicada cadena, siendo el detalle perfecto para completar su look aristocrático.
> El fondo que elegí complementa la elegancia de Wrackoo con una pared decorada con patrones, que recuerdan a un lujoso papel tapiz antiguo, ambientando la escena como si posara en un salón victoriano. El suelo cuadriculado le da solidez, haciendo que parezca dar un paso hacia el espectador con seguridad y encanto.

I began this artwork with a sketch, laying down the proportions and overall stance of Wrackoo. This stage is where the character begins to take shape, and I focused on capturing his proud posture and distinctive facial hair.
Once the sketch felt solid, I moved on to the lineart. Clean, defined lines helped bring clarity and structure to the drawing. This is always one of my favorite parts, because it transforms a rough idea into something more concrete and ready for the next stage.
The coloring stage was very enjoyable. Even though this artwork is monochromatic, I still played with different shades of gray to give depth and contrast. Each section of his suit and fur required a careful balance so that every detail remained distinct and visible.
Adding shadows gave Wrackoo’s figure more weight and presence. I wanted his coat, mustache, and cane to feel dimensional, as if you could almost reach out and touch them. Shadows also helped highlight his aristocratic aura.
Highlights were the next step, and they made the piece come alive. Small glimmers on his monocle, cane, and fur added that final touch of magic, giving Wrackoo a lively and polished appearance.
Finally, the background tied everything together. The patterned wall and tiled floor created a setting that not only enhanced Wrackoo’s character but also made him feel at home in an elegant and timeless environment.
> Comencé esta obra con un boceto, marcando las proporciones y la postura general de Wrackoo. En esta etapa es donde el personaje empieza a tomar forma, y me enfoqué en capturar su porte orgulloso y su característico bigote.
> Una vez que el boceto estuvo sólido, pasé al delineado. Líneas limpias y definidas ayudaron a dar claridad y estructura al dibujo. Esta siempre es una de mis partes favoritas, porque transforma una idea en bruto en algo más concreto y listo para la siguiente etapa.
> La etapa de coloreado fue muy disfrutable. Aunque esta obra es monocromática, jugué con diferentes tonos de grises para dar profundidad y contraste. Cada parte de su traje y su pelaje requirió un equilibrio cuidadoso para que cada detalle se mantuviera claro y distinguible.
> Agregar las sombras le dio más peso y presencia a la figura de Wrackoo. Quise que su abrigo, su bigote y su bastón se sintieran tridimensionales, como si pudieras casi tocarlos. Las sombras también ayudaron a resaltar su aire aristocrático.
> Los brillos fueron el siguiente paso, y fueron los que dieron vida a la pieza. Pequeños destellos en su monóculo, bastón y pelaje añadieron ese toque final de magia, otorgándole a Wrackoo un aspecto pulido y vivaz.
> Finalmente, el fondo unió todo. La pared con patrones y el suelo cuadriculado crearon una ambientación que no solo realzó al personaje, sino que también lo hizo sentir en casa, en un entorno elegante y atemporal.

Creating this artwork was a delightful experience. Wrackoo’s design gave me the opportunity to explore elegance in a playful and imaginative way, and I’m truly happy with the result. * Ibis Paint X program.
* Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
