Creating this artwork was such an exciting experience for me! Hi everyone, I’m Lorentm, a digital artist passionate about storytelling through art. I wanted to share with you my latest digital illustration based on one of the characters from @holozing. Hello to the amazing @holozing community — I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s Zingtober event! For today’s prompt, “Deal,” I chose to illustrate Ocean Healer (male) and Gemino, capturing a moment of power and unity between them.

Para la palabra clave del día, Deal, decidí ilustrar a Ocean Healer (male) junto a Gemino, representando un momento lleno de poder y unión entre ambos.
The concept came from one of my favorite anime scenes — the moment when Naruto summons Gamabunta to fight by forming a pact. I wanted to bring that same feeling of determination and connection into this artwork. It felt like the perfect way to interpret the word “Deal,” symbolizing an agreement that bonds strength and spirit together.
> La idea nació de una de mis escenas favoritas del anime, cuando Naruto invoca a Gamabunta para luchar, después de formar un pacto. Quise traer esa misma sensación de determinación y conexión a esta ilustración. Me pareció la forma perfecta de representar la palabra Deal, como un acuerdo que une la fuerza y el espíritu.
Working on Ocean Healer was especially meaningful — he’s a character who embodies calm and power, and I imagined him channeling the ocean’s energy to summon Gemino, a mighty creature resembling an armored turtle with crystal spikes. The dynamic between them was what inspired the composition of this piece.
> Trabajar en Ocean Healer fue especialmente significativo, ya que es un personaje que transmite calma y poder al mismo tiempo. Lo imaginé canalizando la energía del océano para invocar a Gemino, una poderosa criatura que recuerda a una tortuga acorazada con picos de cristal. La conexión entre ambos fue lo que inspiró la composición de esta obra.
Every time I draw something like this, I feel like I’m diving into a world where imagination and energy collide — and this one, in particular, made me smile from start to finish.

In the drawing, Ocean Healer kneels on the ground with one hand touching the surface and the other forming a seal, channeling his spiritual energy to summon Gemino. His expression is serious and focused, showing both discipline and confidence. He wears a traditional-style robe with oceanic motifs, dark pants, and a flowing coat that moves with the wind, emphasizing the sense of power. His hair is spiky and dynamic, framing his determined face.

Behind him stands Gemino, towering and majestic. His body is covered in scales and armored plates, and on his back, several sharp crystals emerge like a shield. He holds a pipe in his mouth, adding a wise and slightly mystical touch. The background is filled with swirling clouds and waves of energy rising from the summoning circle — a moment frozen right at the peak of invocation.
> Detrás de él se encuentra Gemino, imponente y majestuoso. Su cuerpo está cubierto de escamas y placas de armadura, y en su espalda surgen varios cristales afilados que parecen formar un escudo. Sostiene una pipa en la boca, lo que le da un aire sabio y un toque místico. The process began with a rough sketch, where I focused on the general composition — the pose of Ocean Healer and the imposing presence of Gemino behind him. I wanted to capture the feeling of movement, energy, and tension in their stance.
> El proceso comenzó con un boceto inicial donde me concentré en la composición general: la pose de Ocean Healer y la imponente figura de Gemino detrás de él. Quise capturar la sensación de movimiento, energía y tensión en sus posturas.
Then came the line art, where I refined every contour carefully. I paid special attention to the character’s expression and Gemino’s structure — his shell, claws, and spikes had to feel both organic and strong.
> Luego pasé al delineado, donde afiné cada contorno con cuidado. Presté especial atención a la expresión del personaje y a la estructura de Gemino: su caparazón, sus garras y sus picos debían transmitir fuerza y naturalidad.
After that, I moved to the coloring stage, giving life to each element. Even though this artwork has a monochrome finish, I first worked with tones to define light and depth before adjusting them to grayscale.
> Después pasé al coloreado, dando vida a cada elemento. Aunque esta obra tiene un acabado en blanco y negro, primero trabajé con los tonos para definir la luz y la profundidad antes de ajustarlos al estilo monocromático.
Next, I added shadows, bringing weight and dimension to the scene. This step always transforms the drawing — the characters start to gain presence, and the energy of the scene becomes tangible.
> Luego añadí sombras, aportando peso y dimensión a la escena. Este paso siempre transforma el dibujo: los personajes comienzan a cobrar presencia y la energía de la escena se vuelve palpable.
I followed with highlights, small touches of light that define texture and mood. The reflections on Gemino’s crystals and the soft glow around the summoning circle were essential to give the piece its mystical aura.
> Continué con los brillos, pequeños toques de luz que definen la textura y el ambiente. Los reflejos en los cristales de Gemino y el resplandor del círculo de invocación fueron esenciales para darle a la obra su aura mística.
Finally, I completed the background, adding clouds, smoke, and movement lines to enhance the feeling of power. The environment had to feel alive — like the world itself was reacting to the summoning.
