Hello everyone, I’m Lorentm, a digital artist, and I’m thrilled to welcome you once again to my art blog. Today I want to share a piece that means a lot to me. It’s based on one of the characters from @holozing, and I’m truly excited to present it to the whole @holozing community. I’m currently participating in this year’s Inktober hosted by holozing, called Zingtober, and this artwork corresponds to day 30, with the keyword “Vacant.”
As soon as I saw that word, my mind began to wander through many interpretations. I wanted to capture that feeling of emptiness that can sometimes live inside people, that silent space where emotions fade. While thinking about that, I was inspired by the anime Naruto, particularly the moment when Obito is struck by Kakashi and confesses that he feels empty inside, unable to feel pain anymore. That raw emotion guided every stroke of this artwork.
In this drawing, I decided to portray the male version of Ocean Healer — a character whose presence evokes both strength and sorrow. His gaze carries a mix of rage, pain, and determination. While working on this piece, I felt connected to the idea of inner voids, the spaces left by loss, and the resilience it takes to continue despite them.
I want to thank @acidyo and @holozing for continuously supporting my creations. Their encouragement has been a true source of motivation throughout this artistic journey.

Está basada en uno de los personajes de @holozing, y me llena de alegría poder presentarla a toda la comunidad de @holozing. Actualmente estoy participando en el Inktober de este año organizado por holozing, llamado Zingtober, y esta obra corresponde al día 30, con la palabra clave “Vacant”.
> Cuando vi esa palabra, mi mente comenzó a imaginar diferentes interpretaciones. Quise capturar esa sensación de vacío que a veces habita en las personas, ese espacio silencioso donde las emociones se desvanecen. Al pensar en eso, recordé el anime de Naruto, en especial el momento en que Óbito es herido por Kakashi y confiesa sentirse vacío por dentro, sin poder sentir más dolor. Esa emoción tan cruda fue la que guió cada trazo de esta obra.
> En este dibujo decidí representar la versión masculina de Ocean Healer, un personaje cuya presencia transmite fuerza y tristeza al mismo tiempo. Su mirada refleja una mezcla de ira, dolor y determinación. Mientras trabajaba en esta pieza, sentí una conexión con la idea del vacío interior, esos espacios que deja la pérdida y la fortaleza que se necesita para seguir adelante a pesar de ello.

The male Ocean Healer appears as a figure marked by scars and time. His tattered clothing hints at past battles and the wear of emotional struggle. His vest and scarf merge into a dark void in his chest — a hole that symbolizes that emptiness I aimed to express. The monochrome palette enhances the contrast between light and darkness, making his expression even more intense. His hair is sharp and unrestrained, like a storm frozen in time, while his eyes reveal a deep internal conflict. The background, with its layered tones and broken symmetry, reinforces the idea of a place detached from reality, echoing that feeling of isolation within his soul.
> El Ocean Healer masculino aparece como una figura marcada por las cicatrices y el paso del tiempo. Su ropa desgastada sugiere batallas pasadas y el desgaste de una lucha emocional. Su chaleco y bufanda se funden en un vacío oscuro en el pecho, un agujero que simboliza el vacío que quise representar. La paleta monocromática refuerza el contraste entre la luz y la oscuridad, intensificando su expresión. Su cabello es afilado e indomable, como una tormenta detenida en el tiempo, mientras que sus ojos revelan un profundo conflicto interior. El fondo, con sus tonos superpuestos y su simetría quebrada, refuerza la idea de un lugar separado de la realidad, evocando ese sentimiento de aislamiento en su alma.

The journey began with a rough sketch, where I tried to capture the overall shape and emotion of the character. I focused on his expression first, ensuring the eyes conveyed that sense of inner emptiness.
Once the structure was set, I moved on to the line art. This step was about precision — defining the scars, folds in the clothing, and the edges of the void in his chest. Clean, confident lines gave the figure its solidity and presence.
Then came the coloring phase, even though the piece remained monochromatic. Working in grayscale allowed me to play with emotional tones instead of color harmony, highlighting the contrasts between despair and resilience.
Adding shadows brought the character to life. I used soft gradients around the face and hands to create depth, while darker tones emphasized the tension in his stance and the void’s depth at his chest.
Highlights followed, placed carefully on his hair, gloves, and scars. These bright spots gave the sense of light barely reaching him, as if he existed between darkness and clarity.
Finally, I created the background. I wanted it to feel like a voided space, similar to the Kamui dimension from Naruto — an abstract and desolate environment that mirrors the emptiness he carries inside.
> El proceso comenzó con un boceto inicial, donde intenté capturar la forma general y la emoción del personaje. Me concentré primero en su expresión, asegurándome de que los ojos transmitieran esa sensación de vacío interior.
> Una vez establecida la estructura, pasé al delineado. Esta etapa se trató de precisión: definir las cicatrices, los pliegues de la ropa y los bordes del vacío en su pecho. Las líneas firmes y limpias le dieron solidez y presencia a la figura.
> Luego llegó la fase de coloreado, aunque la obra se mantuvo monocromática. Trabajar en escala de grises me permitió jugar con los tonos emocionales en lugar de la armonía del color, resaltando los contrastes entre la desesperación y la resistencia.
> Las sombras fueron las que dieron vida al personaje. Usé degradados suaves alrededor del rostro y las manos para crear profundidad, mientras que los tonos más oscuros reforzaron la tensión en su postura y la profundidad del vacío en su pecho.
> Después añadí los brillos, colocados cuidadosamente en su cabello, guantes y cicatrices. Esos destellos crearon la sensación de una luz que apenas lo alcanza, como si existiera entre la oscuridad y la claridad.
> Finalmente, trabajé el fondo. Quise que se sintiera como un espacio vacío, similar a la dimensión Kamui de Naruto, un entorno abstracto y desolado que refleja el vacío que él lleva dentro.

The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
* Android tablet.
* Capacitive pen (Stylus).
* Ibis Paint X program.
* Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
