Just now, on October 4th, 2025 at 15:46:54 UTC, the 100 millionth block was written on the Hive blockchain! This is a huge milestone in the history of Hive, and I just had to celebrate the moment.
Why is this so cool? Well, the answer is simple. On Hive, our transactions are completely free, super fast (every 3 seconds) and every single action is clearly written on the blockchain in a transparent and open way. With our amazing tools like the HiveHub block explorer, it is super easy and actually fun to explore blocks, transactions, wallet histories, and all the technical stuff.
If you want to take a closer look, here is the historic Block 100,000,000 signed by none other than @deathwing: 👉 https://hivehub.dev/b/100000000
What can you find in that block? Well, there are exactly 11 Splinterlands transactions, 4 Hive-Engine actions, 3 comments or votes, 5 virtual rewards, and 1 custom JSON. It is a great example of how diverse Hive activity really is... from gaming and community interaction to smart contracts and blockchain rewards.
By the way, if we continue at this block speed of one block every 3 seconds, we will reach 200 million blocks around March 2035 – so in about 9 years and 6 months from now. That sounds far away, but with this amazing community and growing activity, I am sure we will get there faster than we think.
Happy Signing!
PS: With my witness producing about one block every ~46 minutes — I had about a 1 in 920 chance of signing block #100,000,000.
