Unfortunately, the two phones I ordered from Solana Mobile have still not been delivered. Honestly, I find that really disappointing. Many others have already received their Seeker phones and have been able to set them up without any problems. To be more precise, around 28,436 users have already gotten their phones – and I have not even received a shipping confirmation yet. That feels like a pretty big failure to me, especially since I ordered early and was excited to be part of the launch.

But well… sometimes things do not go as planned. Luckily, my dear brother @rivalzzz already received three phones from Solana Mobile – yes, three! And in a very kind gesture, he offered to give me one of his phones for now, so that I could at least set up the device and activate my Solana Seeker ID. That was super helpful and really appreciated.
So now, thanks to him, I can already explore the phone and the Seeker system. And of course, once my two phones finally arrive, he will get one of them back from me. Fair deal!
Still, I hope Solana Mobile improves their communication and shipping process – this kind of delay with no update is not a great experience for early supporters.
When it comes to the packaging design, I have to say – it looks really elegant. The box has a clean and premium feel to it. Everything was well packed and nicely arranged.
Inside the box, the contents were simple but complete. It included the Seeker phone itself, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, a SIM card pin, a small user manual, and a few seed cards for writing down your wallet recovery phrases. Everything was neatly packed and gave a good first impression.
After unpacking it, I took a closer look at the phone. And I must say – it is really lightweight! I was honestly surprised by how little it weighs, especially when I compare it to my current Xiaomi phone. You can clearly feel the difference when holding it in your hand. It almost feels like holding a dummy device, but in a good way – very slim, easy to hold, and perfect for one-handed use.
So, I went ahead and turned on the phone to start setting it up. Since I am not planning to use it as my main phone right now, I just set it up quickly and left it to the side. My current phone is still way better in many ways, so the Seeker phone will stay more like a second device for now.
Because of that, I decided to do a very basic setup – completely clean. I skipped the Google account, did not put in a SIM card, and left out all the usual apps and services I normally use. I just wanted to get a first feel for the system without adding too much.
The operating system is Android, of course, but it feels a bit different. After using the Xiaomi system for many years, it definitely takes some time to get used to this more stock version of Android. It looks and works differently in many small ways, but I will get used to it.
Once the basic setup was done, I went straight to the most important part – I set up my wallet and made sure to secure my Seeker ID. That part went smoothly.
After that, I checked out the Dapp Store, which is the special app store for Web3 apps on the Seeker phone. I downloaded a few apps just to see how it works and what is available. It is still a bit empty, but I am curious to see how it grows over time.
Now I am waiting to see what happens next. From September 8, the official Solana Seeker Mobile Season is supposed to begin – with airdrops and new features being rolled out. So let’s see what surprises are coming!
