Workout and dim sum

Morning, my wonderful friends here on Hive. One of the things that I love to do is to walk and jog.

Today and tomorrow are Malaysia Day. This is one of the days to appreciate Malaysia.

While I was running here, I saw this hostel that was next to a college that is next to this park being demolished.

Here at this park, there is also a pump bike park. The skies are clear. Recently, it has been raining quite a lot. So, it is a bonus to have clear skies.

This is one of the only pump bike parks here in Sarawak designed by a company from overseas that is specialized in building bike parks like these.

What is special about pump bike parks like this is that the rider uses the body instead of pedalling to create momentum in cycling. Accelerating with the law of physics. Usually, if this were in the afternoon, this whole place would be filled with lots of bike riders.

In the sky, I spotted an airplane flying over here. This is also one of the best places in Miri where you can watch the planes above. Can you see the moon above? It can be seen too during the day.

The skies were dark, and it was going to rain. So, it was time to leave and have some breakfast.

This is the rainy season and it usually rains a lot. Luckily, it stops once in a while for all the water to clear away.

The next thing to do after a walk in the park. Time to get to the nearest Dim Sum restaurant and have a meal here.

I went to Lao Yang Dim Sum

This restaurant has been here for a decade. This place is quite popular. During Weekends as well as during public holidays, this place packs up.

Prawn dumplings

Prawn dumplings in bamboo containers. Steamed till they become chewy. The thin skin wraps around the prawn meat.

Everything we ordered here. We did not order a lot but just enough to fill our stomachs.

Som Mai, Custard buns, steamed dumplings and etc.

The ambiene here is comforting with the red chinese lanterns hanging above the tables.

This young lady is quite happy that I took a picture of her.

A bowl of century egg porridge. I used to not like century eggs till I met my wife.

I have to try out the different dishes.

The egg is not a century old but it is fermented for a while before ending up here. It adds this extra soft texture to the porridge.

Chew Cheong Fun - I am not sure if I wrote the name correctly. Rice flour steamed into flat wraps filled with lots of different types of bits of meat and somethings shrimp. This taste like a plate of dessert.

At the side is a special Malaysian sambal - a type of spicy sweet sauce that is usually made of shrimp paste.

That is how a wonderful morning went. A wonderful morning workout followed by a visit to one of my favourite dim sum restaurants here in Miri.

Thank you very much for reading this post. Have a wonderful time.
