Hello friends,
Here's a painting from my collections.
It documents the twilight life of the creek dwellers in Makoko, Lagos, Nigeria.
It is a creative attempt to comprehend the lowlife of the suburb creek dwellers, while overlooking their neighbours (the city dwellers).
As represented, one could see from bleak electricity,to firewood cooking,to using fire to warm themselves outside...this feels like an orthodox way of survival, one born of improvisation and persistence.
This painting is made of oil on canvas (42 x 48 inches)
Kindly leave your thoughts in the comments below, cheers!!
