*La lluvia tradicionalmente siempre ha sido considerada una bendición para muchos de nosotros, de niña cada vez que llovía recuerdo que salía con mis primos a correr bicicleta en las veredas de la urbanización donde vivíamos, siendo uno de los mejores momentos que disfrutaba en mi niñez, y cuando la lluvia cesaba todo quedaba fresco y limpio; la lluvia se encargaba de llevarse todas las penas y tristezas. Ahora todo ha cambiado de un tiempo para acá, el periodo de lluvias representa un temor para la mayoría de los que vivimos en mi país, ya que las intensas lluvias han creado afectaciones tan graves que han puesto en riesgo la vida de muchos que viven cerca de quebradas y ríos, dejando un gran número de damnificados y fallecidos; en las ciudades es común ver que las calles se anegan a tal punto que no se puede transitar, dejando en evidencia el colapso de la falta de mantenimiento de los desagües y sistema de alcantarillado que no permiten la circulación de las aguas de lluvia.* *Muchas veces la basura acumulada en las calles agravan la situación, el servicio de aseo urbano no trabaja diligentemente para mantener las calles limpias a diario, ya que no se da abasto para atender la limpieza de las calles y la recolección de los desechos sólidos a tiempo, aunado a la irresponsabilidad del ciudadano que arroja basura a las quebradas y calles sin conciencia de lo que esto ocasiona, factor que influye también en el desastre que se vuelven las calles de mi ciudad cada vez que llueve. Por lo que lamentablemente, a medida que pasan los años en vez de progresar como es de esperarse, vamos en retroceso, ya que las consecuencias de la lluvia están sobrepasando cada vez los limites, sin mencionar que con cada lluvia se va la luz en muchos sectores de la ciudad, triste realidad la que atravesamos con cada chaparrón, que cada vez son más frecuentes por el calentamiento global que tanto nos hablan los expertos.* *Aunque, soy de las que acostumbran a ver el vaso medio lleno en vez de medio vacío, no se puede tapar el sol con un dedo como dice el dicho, ya que esta es la triste realidad que atravesamos cada vez que llueve con intensidad; esperando que cada vez los ciudadanos seamos conscientes de la situación y desde la medida de nuestras posibilidades contribuir a enfrentar los embates de los torrenciales que cada vez son más frecuentes, evitando construir viviendas en las zonas de riesgo, no botar basura en las calles, solo sacarla los días que pasa el aseo, y obviamente los organismos del estado hacer las inversiones necesarias para mantener en buenas condiciones el sistema de drenaje, ya que a estas alturas de progreso mundial, es inconcebible que vivamos como estamos actualmente, por lo que es común ver las calles de mi ciudad, así como ven en la imagen que en esta ocasión nos proporciona @lanzjoseg en ***Observa, Piensa y Escribe*** de esta semana, aprovechando de invitar a todos los que me leen a unirse a este concurso, que con solo una imagen nos invita a dar rienda suelta a nuestra imaginación, hasta una nueva oportunidad.*

As a child, whenever it rained, I remember going out with my cousins to ride our bikes on the sidewalks of the neighborhood where we lived. Those were some of the best moments I enjoyed in my childhood, and when the rain stopped, everything was fresh and clean; the rain washed away all the sorrows and sadness. Now everything has changed. The rainy season is a source of fear for most of us who live in my country, as heavy rains have caused such serious damage that they have put the lives of many who live near streams and rivers at risk, leaving a large number of people homeless and dead. In cities, it is common to see streets flooded to such an extent that they are impassable, highlighting the collapse of the drainage and sewerage systems, which are unable to cope with the volume of rainwater.*** ***Often, the trash accumulated on the streets aggravates the situation. The urban cleaning service does not work diligently to keep the streets clean on a daily basis, as it cannot cope with cleaning the streets and collecting solid waste on time. This is compounded by the irresponsibility of citizens who throw trash into streams and streets without awareness of the consequences, a factor that also contributes to the disaster that my city's streets become every time it rains. Unfortunately, as the years go by, instead of progressing as expected, we are going backwards, as the consequences of the rain are increasingly exceeding the limits, not to mention that with each rain, the power goes out in many areas of the city. This is the sad reality we face with each downpour, which are becoming more frequent due to global warming, as the experts tell us so often.*** ***Although I am one of those people who tend to see the glass as half full rather than half empty, you can't hide the sun with your finger, as the saying goes, because this is the sad reality we face every time it rains heavily. We hope that citizens will become more aware of the situation and, to the extent possible, contribute to addressing the increasingly frequent torrential rains by avoiding building homes in high-risk areas, not littering the streets, only taking out trash on garbage collection days, and, obviously, state agencies making the necessary investments to maintain the drainage system in good condition, since at this stage of global progress, it is inconceivable that we live as we currently do.
