Hallo liebe Community, am nächsten Morgen stand für uns wieder ein kleiner Citytrip an, wir wollten uns Cannes einmal näher anschauen. Mit dem Zug, der erstens erstaunlich leer und zweitens erstaunlich neu und sauber war, fuhren wir eine halbe Stunde die Küste entlang und kamen am Bahnhof in Cannes an. Von hier aus war es nur ein kurzes Stück zu unserer ersten geplanten Station dem Wochenmarkt.
Der Markt Marché Forville (manchmal auch als Porte Forville bezeichnet, da er in der Nähe eines alten Stadttors liegt, das ich für Euch fotografiert habe) ist der berühmteste provenzalische Markt und natürlich eine wichtige Attraktion im Herzen von Cannes. Er ist ein überdachter Markt alos eine Markthalle, der für seine lokalen und frischen Produkte bekannt ist. Hier konnten wir eine Fülle von provenzalischen Produkten begutachten. Es gab wirklich alles was man mit Südfrankreich verbindet: Frisches Obst und Gemüse, frischer Fisch und Meeresfrüchte aus der Bucht von Cannes, Käse, Fleisch, Wurst und selbstverständlich provenzalische Spezialitäten (wie Socca, Antipasti, Lerina-Likör und Gewürze).
Von hier aus gingen wir dann weiter durch die Fußgängerzone mit den kleinen Geschäften und Souvenierläden den Berg hinauf. Wir kamen durch einen schön angelegten Garten und standen dann vor der kleinen Festung von Cannes. Auf dem kleinen Hügel befand sich auch der Cannes Schriftzug, den jeder Tourist sicherlich mindestens einmal fotografiert hat. Von hier oben hatten wir auch einen tollen AUsblick auf ganz Cannes.
Nach dem Abstieg gelangten wir an den Hafen und betrachteten auch hier wieder die Luxusyachten der Superreichen während wir weiter zum Casino gingen und die berühmte Treppe der Filmfestspiele von cannes fotografieren konnten. Hier laufen seit Jahrzehnten die Hollywoodgrößen einmal im Jahr über den roten Teppich und in Cannes ist die Hölle los.
Über die Strandpromenade entlang am wunderschönen aber auch überfüllten Strand von Cannes liefen wir einige zeit, bis wir an die Prachtstraße von Cannes mit ihren teuren Hotels kamen. Was wir hier an Protz und Prunk geboten bekamen zeige ich Euch in meinem nächsten Post.

Hello dear community, The next morning, we had another short city trip planned; we wanted to take a closer look at Cannes. We took a half-hour train ride along the coast, which was, firstly, surprisingly empty and, secondly, surprisingly new and clean, and arrived at the train station in Cannes. From there, it was only a short distance to our first planned stop, the weekly market.
The Marché Forville market (sometimes called Porte Forville because it is located near an old city gate, which I photographed for you) is the most famous Provençal market and, of course, a major attraction in the heart of Cannes. It is a covered market known for its local and fresh produce. Here, we were able to peruse a wealth of Provençal products. There was truly everything you associate with the South of France: fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood from the Bay of Cannes, cheese, meat, sausages, and, of course, Provençal specialties (such as socca, antipasti, Lerina liqueur, and spices).
From here, we continued up the hill through the pedestrian zone lined with small shops and souvenir stores. We passed through a beautifully landscaped garden and then stood in front of the small fortress of Cannes. On the small hill was the Cannes sign, which every tourist has surely photographed at least once. From up here, we also had a fantastic view of the whole of Cannes.
After descending, we reached the harbor and again admired the luxury yachts of the super-rich while continuing to the casino and taking photos of the famous staircase of the Cannes Film Festival. For decades, Hollywood stars have walked the red carpet here once a year, and in Cannes, it's a real spectacle.
We walked for a while along the promenade, along the beautiful but also crowded beach of Cannes, until we reached the boulevard of Cannes with its expensive hotels. I'll show you what pomp and circumstance we encountered here in my next post.
