Hallo liebe Community, am nächsten Morgen stand unser erster Stadtausflug des Urlaubs an. Wir begannen natürlich gleich mit dem Highlight Monaco, das nur 2 Bahnstationen entfernt war. Wir waren also mit der Bahn von Villefranche Sur Mer innerhalb weniger Minuten im unterirdischen Bahnhof von Monaco. Mit dem Aufzug ging es dann 5 Stockwerke nach oben und wir traten hinaus in den wundervollen Sonnenschein des Morgens.
Schon von hier hatte man herrliche Ausblicke auf die am Berg gelegene Stadt und den Hafen unter uns. Wir begannen den Abstieg durch die schmalen Gassen Monacos hinunter zum prachtvollen Hafen der Stadt. Unten angekommen bot sich uns das erwartete Bild. Der Hafen war voll mit riesigen Yachten der Superreichen. Eine größer und schöner als die andere. Wir schauten uns alle ausgiebig an und schlenderten den Hafen an der Formel 1 Rennstrecke entlang. Diese führt über die Hafenstraße und dürfte vielen aus den Formel 1 Übertragungen im TV bekannt sein.
An den Yachten waren tatsächlich auch viele Autos der Besitzer direkt davor geparkt. Rolls Royce, Bentley und Ferrari standen hier sauber aufgereiht nebeneinander und warteten darauf wieder benutzt zu werden. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Hafenseite sahen wir schon den Hügel auf dem die Altstadt und das Schloss von Monaco in der Morgensonne lagen. Dort wollten wir als nächstes hin. Am Ende der Hafenstraße bestaunten wir wenig später die berühmte Spitzkehre bei der es in der Formel 1 des öfteren mal zu einem kleinen Unfall kommt, wenn die Fahrer hier auf die Zielgerade einbiegen und noch einen Überholversuch starten. Von hier hatten wir auch einen schönen Blick auf die Start Ziel Gerade mit der Boxengasse.
Bei langsam steigenden Temperaturen, wir waren schon bei 25 Grad am frühen Morgen, machten wir uns an den schweißtreibenden Aufstieg hinauf zur Altstadt. Hierbei hatten wir wieder wundervolle Ausblicke auf den Hafen und die Stadt gegenüber, die den gesamten Berghang in Beschlag nahm.

Hello dear community, The next morning, our first city trip of the vacation was scheduled. Naturally, we started with the highlight of Monaco, which was only two train stops away. So, within a few minutes by train from Villefranche-sur-Mer, we were in Monaco's underground station. The elevator then took us up five floors and stepped out into the wonderful morning sunshine.
Even from here, we had magnificent views of the city perched on the hill and the harbor below us. We began the descent through Monaco's narrow streets down to the city's magnificent harbor. Once we reached the bottom, we were greeted by the expected sight. The harbor was full of enormous yachts belonging to the super-rich, each one larger and more beautiful than the last. We took a good look at each of them and strolled along the harbor past the Formula 1 race track. This runs along the harbor road and will be familiar to many from the Formula 1 broadcasts on TV.
In fact, many of the owners' cars were parked right in front of the yachts. Rolls-Royces, Bentleys, and Ferraris were lined up neatly next to each other, waiting to be used again. On the opposite side of the harbor, we could already see the hill where the old town and the castle of Monaco lay in the morning sun. That's where we wanted to go next. A little later, at the end of the harbor road, we marveled at the famous hairpin bend, where minor accidents often occur in Formula 1 races when drivers turn onto the finish straight and attempt an overtaking move. From here, we also had a beautiful view of the start-finish straight and the pit lane.
With temperatures slowly rising—we were already at 25 degrees Celsius early in the morning—we began the strenuous climb up to the old town. Once again, we had wonderful views of the harbor and the city opposite, which occupied the entire hillside.
