Hallo liebe Community, gleich früh morgens nach dem französischen Frühstück mit Baguette und Croissants ging es für uns also wieder auf die Autobahn um die restlichen knapp 500 Kilometer in Angriff zu nehmen. Die Fahrt war recht angenehm, da durch die französische Maut die Autobahnen in Frankreich alle recht gut in Schuss sind und auch nicht so voll wie in Deutschland. Immer wieder kamen wir an den Mautstellen von Vinci, dem Mautbetreiber, vorbei und mussten blechen. Insgesamt so ca. 100 € für die gesamte Strecke.
Auf der Fahrt hatten wir das ein oder andere Highlight, wenn uns mal ein Ferrari überholte, wir durch coole Tunnels fuhren oder, je weiter wir nach Süden kamen, gewaltige Bergmassive sich zu unserer Rechten oder Linken auftaten. Kurz vor unserem Ziel sahen wir an der Autobahn noch die Allianz Riviera Arena, das Fußballstadion von Nizza mit ca. 35.000 Plätzen und sozusagen die Miniaturausgabe der Allianz Arena in München. Dann fuhren wir von der Autobahn ab und luden das Auto nochmal auf 100% auf, da Ladesäulen an unserem Ferienort eher dünn gesät waren. Aber diesen Stop nutzten wir gleich, um Lebensmittel für unsere Ferienwohnung zu kaufen, keine verschwendete Zeit also.
Nach unserem Ladestop kamen wir auch direkt an die Küste und fuhren die Küstenstraße ein kurzes Stück zu unserem Zielort Villefranche Sur Mer. Von hier hatten wir einen tollen Blick über den Ort und die Bucht, langsam kam richtig Urlaubsfeeling auf. Die engen Gassen, die unser Navi uns zur Ferienanlage führte waren dann nochmal eine Herausforderung. Aber auch diese bewältigten wir und standen irgendwann auf dem bewachten Parkplatz unserer Unterkunft.
Mit unseren Koffern suchten wir unser Appartment und wurden schnell fündig. Auf der Gartenebene ganz außen, mit kleinem Vorgarten, Wohnzimmer, Küche und zwei kleine Schlafzimmer. Alles recht klein und beengt aber alles in allem recht schön und durchaus brauchbar für die nächsten 10 Tage. Nachdem alles eingeräumt war schauten wir uns erstmal die Anlage an. Durch den schönen garten ging es zum Haupthaus, das 5 Stockwerke in den Berg hinein gebaut war. Das coolste war der Pool, der auf der obersten Ebene lag und in dem auf dem Boden und an der Seite große Bullaugen integriert waren. Durch diese konnte man von den unteren Ebenen in den Pool schauen und den Leuten beim Schwimmen zusehen. So was hatte ich bis dahin auch noch nicht gesehen.
Der Ausblick von hier oben war phänomenal. Man konnte die ganze Bucht überblicken und sah die Yachten, die dort vor Anker lagen. Nur das Wetter wollte nicht so recht, es war zwar sehr warm aber trotzdem sah es so aus, als würde jeden Augenblick ein Gewitter losbrechen. Es blieb aber trocken. Als wir dann nach einer ersten Runde Schwimmen im Pool zum Abendessen auf unserer Terrasse saßen und Nudeln Bolognese genossen, konnte der Urlaub so richtig los gehen.

Hello dear community, First thing in the morning, after a French breakfast of baguette and croissants, we hit the highway again to tackle the remaining 500 kilometers. The drive was quite pleasant, as the French toll system means that the highways in France are all in good condition and not as busy as in Germany. We repeatedly passed toll booths run by Vinci, the toll operator, and had to pay. A total of about €100 for the entire journey.
We had a few highlights along the way, such as when a Ferrari overtook us, when we drove through cool tunnels, or, the further south we went, when massive mountain ranges appeared on our right or left. Shortly before our destination, we saw the Allianz Riviera Arena, Nice's football stadium with approximately 35,000 seats, a miniature version of the Allianz Arena in Munich, on the highway. Then we exited the highway and charged the car to 100% again, as charging stations were few and far between at our resort. But we used this stop to buy groceries for our holiday apartment, so no time wasted.
After our charging stop, we arrived directly at the coast and drove a short distance along the coastal road to our destination, Villefranche-sur-Mer. From here, we had a fantastic view of the town and the bay, and we were slowly starting to get that holiday feeling. The narrow streets our navigation system led us down to the resort were another challenge. But we mastered them too and eventually arrived at the guarded parking lot of our accommodation.
With our suitcases, we searched for our apartment and quickly found it. On the garden level, at the very outside, with a small front garden, a living room, a kitchen, and two small bedrooms. Everything was quite small and cramped, but all in all quite nice and perfectly usable for the next 10 days. After everything was packed away, we first took a look around the complex. Through the beautiful garden, we reached the main house, which was built five stories into the mountain. The coolest part was the pool, which was located on the top level and had large portholes integrated into the floor and on the sides. Through these, you could look into the pool from the lower levels and watch the people swimming. I had never seen anything like it before.
The view from up here was phenomenal. You could see the entire bay and the yachts anchored there. Only the weather wasn't cooperating; it was very warm, but it still looked like a thunderstorm was about to break out at any moment. But it stayed dry. After our first swim in the pool, we sat down for dinner on our terrace and enjoyed pasta Bolognese, and the vacation could really begin.
