I've awoken to similar scenes, yet it was always a thick, feathery frost we call hoarfrost that creates this 'softening' effect on rare winter mornings.
This morning it was instead a delicate, fluffy, soft and clingy snow. It made me realize why the Indigenous people of Canada have so many different words for snow, I wonder what this kind is called...sigh...
