Bouquet - Ink Drawing, 21x16 cm, 2022
Bouquet was the theme of day 6 of the Inktober challenge. I grew all kinds of flowers in my garden this year. I decided to feature some of them in my bouquet. Unfortunately, I did not have time to post about the garden before the summer ended. But I hope I can do it before October ends at least. It was so wonderful. Every time I think about it, I smile ear to ear. You will see what I rave about soon! ^^
So in the previous post, I mentioned how I am a bit nocturnal. Yeah. I stayed up till after 6 am for this one. I am a bit worried about it at this point. Am I taking it too far? I will soon have to install the sunlight lamps around the house if I continue down this path. I might need them regardless. It is getting so dark quickly here already. The winds are picking up, and the leaves are swirling off the trees at a rapid pace. I say a week from now everything will be gloomy to look at. And while it has its charm, I am not looking forward to how it affects my mental state year after year. Hey! Maybe that is why I compensate with such bright colors in this artwork. Nah, you know me! I love vibrant stuff in my life!
The process For this one, I did not have a planned sketch. I sat down and reached for my liquid Diamine inks right away. The music kept me company as I visualized, in my mind, all the beautiful flowers I grew in the garden. I did not want to paint them exactly as they were. Instead, I kept the shapes a bit more abstract yet still recognizable to some degree. The process flowed easily, and I was in my little meditational bubble the entire time. Once the inks were in place, I wanted to pronounce some of the areas using black Pigma Micron fine liner 03 for darker areas and Sakura Gelly Roll 08 in white for brighter areas. I love how it turned out! I want to stare at every bit of it up close, and it just makes me happy!

Look at the lineup I got going here. It is so satisfying to look at these side by side. More! We need more, right?
Thank you once again for being here and having a look at my latest creations. It means a lot!
