Ten days of Inktober, 2024

As mentioned in the previous post, I will now post with intervals. I am happy with my decision since posting every day adds extra pressure that, to be fair, my body currently cannot take. For some reason, my neck and shoulder have been bugging me since I returned from Croatia. The last few days, it got pretty bad. I now have it taped up with medical tape, and hopefully, it will be better soon. But I find posting with intervals is much nicer. I also forgive myself for posting after midnight too. I am a night owl and have been too hard on myself about always making everything happen within particular time frames. I do not want to torture myself like that anymore. I have to be kinder to myself.
So yeah, splitting one week in 3 and then four days makes the most sense. The post after this one will arrive on Hive in 4 days or so. How did it go with these three days? Let us find out. Inktober 2024, Day 8: Hike ![5.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23uFMUWLBD1T6KX1MDnyVJuPVUphWyCX5s3TADX2L9t1jpCzaNgEsMFjvzVMRzSZcvcEa.jpg) Hike - Ink drawing, 21 x16cm, Inktober 2024 For the prompt hike, I hoped to incorporate the backpack from the first day somehow. The human, whose backpack it is, is hiking through the forest. It is autumn, obviously, and he is showing his pet plant, which he carries in the pocket of the backpack, how colorful the leaves of the trees can get. I thought it would be cute to continue with the storyline about walking the pet plant. However, I was happily unaware that this piece would take multiple attempts to complete. Why? I was struggling to decide how to execute the forest in the best way. Where do I want outlines? How can I make the leaves happen? Also, I am aware that the human form still needs more improvement. It is okay. It is supposed to be challenging. ![C1.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23tvZrYEcbzA37udcA3yEaqh1ZdKJkKT232UaDZgNE8RQ9eBkDUydRu3e1CU4LJPqvbp3.jpg) Here is how the process of the final product looked. I spared you the failed attempts. Oof, it was tense! In the end, I concluded that a mix between outlines and no outlines worked the best. ![3.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23wMPqomABquhBz3tgkmmjeKcP1dmrSo154V9ePMZsqdWAfqBoX73R1pEcjojwUfGRvM5.jpg) Here, we have some closeups. ![6.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23wC3Bzuwp38DU6z3LCWopcT1ZoRf27ZEUJJC98EYMxPsD78CjczMFvN8TERSq87JCSsS.jpg) ![7.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23xoz6kW9VhGU9jZaWzxQoiWZMewSm2zacesVPvuoaHS7w3vghmeLV7uzj9SPfLVdHUZh.jpg) ![4.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23uQk8YAyq1wjtBUKYuJAJvaH4XXPE1UmJnMA7bFBDyLMEeQMAfFsXNBzJpUaNFD3yhvx.jpg)
Inktober 2024, Day 9: Sun ![12.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23w2eXe2PidrXjGqABoaR6vUJsvcrEtRcXAzKN8yYb3uw3EB63e5ezFLQgkZtYusHafmj.jpg) Sun - Ink drawing, 21 x 16cm, Inktober 2024 On day nine the prompt was sun. I added a flower to the sun. Yes, a sunflower! Perfect! I love sunflowers! This one also had one failed attempt. Thanks to the washi tape once more! I completed the artwork and removed the washi tape at the end. It left near holes on the edges. I was so mad! It was beyond fixing. So, if you see a bit of ink bleeding on the edges, it is because I did not want to risk it, and lightly tapped the tape on the paper. ![C2.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23tSSNRtqtZDTr65DRAWMjedo3dSeise9fASypLWxmF294y8UByVd693bGNHu9qfGNhf4.jpg) The progress of the sunflower. I chose a Diamine ink called Arabian Nights for the background. It has a silver shimmer in it. I thought this ink would highlight the sunflower the best, and it does! Take a look at the close-ups! You can see the shimmer pretty well! It is so pretty! ![13.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23vsBdRqWLVVUPbLGCi7Gnpx29HFsgcWvR7q6EJkUUBUs3ktAriSndBpFhtTmcXoiMwQe.jpg) I am so happy with how it turned out! It looks so happy and bright! It embodies what sunflowers seem like to me! ![14.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23xVAYnMnHvQ8vYBBHPkLyq7quWmpKu21BA2SLWJzRxW4iMTHXbfKY4sDcswUKpTftFuX.jpg) ![15.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23w2eJftZ83JR29pbEVXrpG9Kd28xrT1RioB7Nvhmf569MPJbdqfbctuUMqDKKeWN5TAs.jpg) ![16.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23wgF8vLGPiWW2GL11aTFRwEHkGK6eYdSwFPBrPhW8kVntrmi4hEbW9EuufLHwBHFvuAu.jpg)
Inktober 2024, Day 10: Nomadic ![24.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/m31/23vhsdwTwDk9DbFLvfRp7xzz4syRwnEwk9XhXeMkQ6GafwenbcxuQngov1BiHbVCyfeka.jpg) Nomadic - Ink Drawing, 21 x 16cm, Inktober 2024 Nomadic? I know! It is the digital nomads! We probably have plenty of those here on Hive, right?! We live in times when it has never been easier to become one. All you need is a steady internet connection, and you are good to go. It also helps that people have warmed up to the idea that you do not need to be tied to a single location to provide services, content, and other things. That is what this piece is about. You are sitting on the beach somewhere, listening to the sound of the waves, and working on your Hive things from there. Who knows where you will be tomorrow? Maybe on the top of some mountain?

Can you tell that my washi tape is pretty loose now? I still have a bone to pick with it!
