Post-Trip Chaos
East Java, Indonesia

The other day, I was visiting my recently newborn nephew. They live a bit far from me and I had to travel to see them. I practically left the house and the cats to be on their own and when I was back, the house was quite a mess 😂 Once I was home, I definitely sought refuge inside the coffee house. I need some matcha in my veins to calm my nerves after a long trip and finding out the house is quite disorderly. Usually, when I am home, the house is a lot more in order but there were many things happening these past 4 days that we piled up laundry too. There was also a wedding in my neighborhood and everyone was busy helping around including my mom. So, we totally left the house a lot dirtier than what we usually like it to be. I have so much to catch up on. I don’t know what’s going around here anymore. I mean,it feels like when you’re gone for a day, so many things have happened 🤣 Even now I already forget most of the places I visit and I have to go through all of the pictures I had just to recall all the experiences and things I did so far. So, bear with me as I am being more chatty around here again.

The Joy of Being a Nomad
East Java, Indonesia
--- Going outside like that really reminds me of a day as a nomad. It’s so fun that we get to be exposed to a new environment, adjusting to it all over again and finding new people to talk to. So, I might do that more often these days than before. But I do recognize that I can’t do that for a long period of time anymore. So it’s why I am now building a routine after such a pause for my normal day. I feel like when I am grounded, it’s a lot easier for me to recuperate and go back to most of the routines I have. When I was a lot younger, in my discovering phase, I learned that to be mobile, I need to have a good system, a good anchor and obviously a good discipline. Before, being on the move felt like I was running from something but these days, it’s a mix of purely curiosity, healing and a way to refuel my creativity. I no longer visit places I don’t like and don't really want to adjust. I go because I want to explore a coffee scene or some type of nature. So, my itinerary would definitely have some type of coffee shops and coffee scene in the mix. Then, some type of mild to hardcore natural activity and that was it 😊 ---
A proof of addiction

This is the checklist I made after a few days at home. In the past, I typically forget these and I have seen quite a bit of places that I don’t even get to share here. Today though, I am making more effort to actually remember all the inspiration, new things and new thoughts I gained from the trip. Oh, and sorting receipts is a real thing as well. Over here while some are using e-receipt, there are places where they still use paper receipts. I like to sort them out to know how much I spent on coffee and food mostly haha because that’s literally what I spend on whenever I travel. I don’t really spend on anything other than coffee. So, see you around and talk to you all soon. Sometimes, a change of scenery is definitely needed.
