Hello👋 back with my Baldur’s Gate 3 update & Just as my title said, I have encountered my first annoying fight in a while. It could have been the problem on my part but let me tell you more!
About a week ago, I was stuck trying to save the tieflings and the gnomes from the moonrise prison tower but I found a way without triggering a fight because I was still in level 6 which made the fight pretty difficult to navigate. So, playing it passively helps a lot with it and I did not have to fight the Zealots which was on a level above me.
It really doesn't matter the type of fighting style I chose to have, I was still overpowered and my HP was a little too low fighting the Zealots. That's why after numerous attempts, I ended up doing it passively and without triggering a fight as I have found that once the boat chain is broken, no matter the environment situation is/during a fight we can still leave with the boat. After finishing off that quest, I got to another mission where I have to lift off the shadow curse which seems like another long mission in this Shadow of the cursed lands.
While there are a few more mission in the area, one that caught my interest the most is the mission with Halsin, saving a little guy named Thaniel. However, the mission has to do with defending the portal where you have to fight a lot of the undead and fighters that are cursed. If you didn't know, they all look like this screenshot.
The first time I did this mission, I managed to finish it and save Thaniel but guess what? the game decided to crash on me before I was able to save it 🙃
With someone outside burning trash and the smoke gets to my room, I got extremely furious 🙂 that I had to go somewhere else for a little bit and restarted the game. After 3 tries, I managed to finally win the game by conserving the power that Wyll has which is fire bolt.
When you don't kill these shadow cursed warriors, they can go up to more than 20 and is a hassle to kill them all.
My other mistake was also saving the game right after Halsin got into the portal and I couldn't change the party members to someone else that has better spells and weapon than my current line up.
I was definitely in corner and had to work with what I have. In the end though, again after 3 attempted to save this Thaniel, I did it once again.
After saving Thaniel, apparently, it didn't stop there. There are some more mission that you have to do to complete it like finding Oliver and eventually finishing this mission.
After this following mission, you have to go deeper to the shadow cursed lands and encounter Oliver. After all the fights you have to go through, more things coming and it looks like this.The funny part is that the shadow is named Daddy and Mommy 🤣
The game dev definitely tried to insert humor into the battle and guess it worked. I laughed doing this quest and eventually, Oliver stopped the fight and let Halsin speak to convince him meeting Thaniel.
Then, I got into some kind of temple, got frustrated and leave the game. Since it's the weekend, I am continuing it once again and trying to explore more area before advancing to Baldur's Gate. See you soon in my next gaming update.
