Hello everyone !
This week our book chat will be organized at 12:00 PM UTC on Saturday. So, if you’re up around that time, tune in and chat with us to talk about your reads.
As for me, these days I’ve been trying to read more but these days I have this habit to read samples 😆 from google book. I was surprised because the prices on google books are the same as a physical book. So, I am a bit torn because I like reading both online and offline.
These days, R.F kuang really got my attention. She is also quite talked about in Indonesia because of her Babel, a historical fiction that talks about revolution and using language and translation as a way to do it. People in my country find this story relevant because of how the media is shaping perception of others through the masterfully crafted language.
While I haven’t really read the book fully, the first 82 pages were absorbing. It was as if we’re transported to another part of London and living it through the life of a Canton’s boy, Robin swift. I read another review about it and I think this is that tier of famous historical books.
There’s another one that I am currently reading from Jack Mars’s book such as Agent Twenty which was a conspiracy thriller genre and similar to Dan Brown’s work. There are some historical aspects to it that if you’re fan of Brown’s work, you’ll dive right in with Jack Mar’s book.
Maybe at some point I’ll talk more about it but this post was about the announcement that I am back hosting Hive Book Chat every Saturday just in a different time than the previous ones. Last week, we have more people tuning in @justfavour , @silvercrown1, @oluchi13 and even @princessbusayo.
See you in our hive book club server!
