Hey 👋
# Have you ever heard of the French press?
French press is a hassle free coffee maker and usually is also known as plunger. It’s a simple coffee maker that produces solid coffee. This coffee maker is so versatile that it can be used not only for coffee but also coffee and frothing milk. With it being so handy and affordable this is a good option to have in every household. However, with the French press they have apparent flaws with people who tend to complain the coffee isn’t strong or even solid. Sometimes, the liquid made from it tends to be bitter and quite inconsistent. But, despite all that, there is a way to work around it. This is what I am going to share today\!

There are a few things around to tweak our french press brew to make it a lot more intense, bold, and rich in caffeine. At the same time, we have to carefully pick the beans and roast profile to get a good cup of coffee since there are technicalities where the result of the coffee tends to be bitter.

## This is a bad way to actually choose the roast profile and a wrong way to brew French press.
You shouldn’t choose anything semi washed or spiced coffee unless you really love it. Since with spiced coffee, they tend to actually get extremely bitter. It’s like drinking herbal concoction. So, if you’re not into those things, it’s better to actually choose something with chocolate, cacao, or and earthy flavors than anything spiced. In short, the best coffee for this would be actually anything from Sumatra, Colombia or anything from the South America region.
The golden ratio to make a good coffee from French Press is 1:15 or 1:17 but if you don’t follow this ratio it will be so bitter that it’s almost like you drink a straight coffee ground & I learned my lesson. If you don’t really know what 1:17 for example if you use 8gr of coffee multiply it by 17 so that means you’ll give 136gr of water. By doing that you’ll get the best cup of coffee made using this versatile tool “French Press”.
For me these days, I often make this coffee through this method because it’s fuss free. It doesn’t need me to clean a lot and all I have to do is care more about the measurement and that’s about it. While I have other tools for the sake of it, this french press is something that I am currently in love with.
