As the sun goes down from Chao Phraya River, it’s time to seek and enjoy the nightlife and the night street food market. One in particular, is the night street market and life in Chinatown. In this area, you can see acculturation between Thai and the Chinese. They are also part of old siam which is not only shown in the buildings but also cultural heritage that is left around the area. But what most intriguing is that the board sign that are very alluring and the local scenes that are bustling around the area. It's a place that you should never miss especially when visiting bangkok After visiting IconSiam with a friend of mine, we decided to check out Chinatown because it was recommended to us. It was my 3rd time visiting IconSiam and inside there, we walked from the ground floor to the upper floor exploring everything we could see. That was why, I got very exhausted but I tried keeping my energy and spirit because there are more things to see.

  ## The china town area also the biggest Chinatown in Thailand and a rich heritage area. But most importantly, it’s advisable to visit during the evening when the area is even more lively.  Compared to most night markets, this is definitely an interesting area to enjoy the food and the nightlife the street has to offer.  As soon as it was around 5PM, we decided to move and take the boat to the pier that will make us reach Chinatown. ### If you are from the city center you can also reach the area with the MRT and specifically Wat Mangkon. With that MRT, you can walk about 10 minutes to reach the main area of Chinatown. It’s also much closer than if you’re going with the boat because it took us about 15 minutes before reaching the area. At the time, my legs were almost giving up because we visited and walked many KMs. So we walked very slowly to reach the center. The cost with boat is 16 BATH for the orange line and MRT depending where you start but it shouldn't be more expensive than 100 BATH especially if you're in the blue line.  We passed through local housing and what seemed to be a shoe store and warehouse. There were many knock off brand shoes and interesting crocs. We walked through the neighborhood and eventually from one of the alleys, we got to the center.  On the way to the center, I spotted Indonesian brand called bata and I've been seeing them around. back home, they're pretty empty but here, they seem to be doing well.  Once we’re in the center, we decided to sit down and enjoy a nice drink in a random place.  Then around 7PM, the street was busier and it was packed with people queuing for food and even shops for knicks and knacks.  We only went to Boots, the pharmacy and walked around the area to find the MRT. On the way to the MRT, people were sitting down and enjoying a meal.  We also enjoyed being in the center of the Chinatown and saw people from all over the world, strolling through it and taking pictures of the signs around the area.  _{A dragon painting at Wat Mangkon MRT station} Once we reached the MRT, we saw some Chinese influence painting across the MRT. All these buildings are pretty interesting to me and that’s why in BKK, I've been mostly visiting places with amazing MRT and there are two more that I have to visit before I move from the country. On this trip, I didn’t really travel very often. I check places now and then when I want to but most of the time, I am pretty lazy to go around 😀. I met another person in my hostel that keeps wanting to move quickly but it’s just not for me. So, I’ve been either finding someone who has the same moving style as I do or just exploring things on my own. And the girl I am traveling with was really nice because she also likes to takes things slowly instead moving too fast and not really enjoying the place. I am sure there are many more place that I have not been visited but I am once again taking my time wandering through Bangkok. I am currently tempted to also explore Indochina but I have to see if I am healthy and fit enough to go wander and check out more of Indochina.
