First Experience of Chinese Epic Wuxia RPG Where Winds Meet (with English Commentary)
Hi everyone! As a lifelong Wuxia fan, I can’t wait to share my journey with you.
For those who may not know, Wuxia is a Chinese fiction genre about heroic martial artists in ancient China. It blends imagined legends with real historical figures, capturing the spirit of warriors who dedicate their lives to martial arts. Growing up, I read many Wuxia novels, watched countless Wuxia dramas, and played Wuxia games—so this is a world I feel deeply connected to.
In recent years, Chinese action RPGs have caught the world’s attention with graphics on par with Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Titles like Black Myth: Wukong and Wuchang have impressed me, but they are single-player experiences. That is why I was so surprised and excited to discover Where Winds Meet—a stunning, multiplayer open-world Wuxia RPG—set to launch globally on Steam on November 15.
The game is published by NetEase Games, the studio behind Naraka: Bladepoint and Marvel Rivals. Both were free-to-play and high-quality, so expectations for Where Winds Meet are sky-high. From what I’ve seen of the art style, combat, and storyline, this could truly be the next big step for Wuxia gaming.
After joining the game’s official Discord, I found out that the Chinese version is already live. With some effort (and after waiting a day for ID verification), I registered for a Chinese account and jumped in immediately. From the very first moments, I was blown away by how immersive and beautiful it feels.
That gave me another idea: why not create English walkthrough videos using the Chinese version? This way, anyone can get an early look at the gameplay, and later on English players will still find the guides useful when the full release arrives.
