Hello, today I want to do a character analysis, but not of just any character, but of one that became an icon for generations, that marked the childhood and/or adolescence of many people around the world. In my case, I learned about Candy through my mom who told me a lot about her, and both of us, along with my sister, still watch this anime today. But although it is full of diverse characters, its protagonist is the most worthy of in-depth analysis, at least in my opinión. >Hola, hoy quiero hacer un análisis de personaje, pero no de cualquier personaje, sino de uno que se volvió un ícono durante generaciones, que marcó la infancia y/o adolescencia de muchas personas al rededor del mundo, en mi caso conocí a Candy a través de mi mamá que me habló mucho de ella y ambas, junto con mi hermana, hoy en día aún seguimos viendo este anime, pero aunque está lleno de personajes variopintos, su protagonista es el más digno de analizar profundamente, al menos en mi opinión.
Although I know many people are already familiar with Candy White Andry, I'd like to give a little background so those who aren't will know who she is. She's a girl who grew up in an orphanage (Pony's Home) with her best friend, Annie, who is like a sister to her. One day, Annie was adopted, and Candy, heartbroken, allowed a family to adopt her just to be near her friend. However, that family adopted her as a servant. As the years pass, Candy and Annie are reunited, and Candy experiences a rollercoaster of emotions, facing losses and challenges that ultimately strengthen her character.
Aunque sé que muchas personas ya conocen a Candy White Andry, me gustaría darles un poco de contexto sobre ella para que los que no la conocen sepan de quién se trata. Ella es una niña que creció en un orfanato (El Hogar de Ponny) junto con su mejor amiga, Annie, quién es como su hermana, pero un día adoptaron a Annie, entonces Candy, muy triste, permitió que una familia la adoptara solo para estar cerca de su amiga, sin embargo esa familia la había adoptado como sirvienta. Con el pasar de los años Candy y Annie vuelven a reencontrarse y Candy vive una travesía de emociones en la cuál se debe enfrentar a pérdidas y desafíos que ayudan a fortalecer su carácter.
What I've always loved about this character is her optimistic, cheerful, and altruistic personality. She's incredibly resilient and keeps going despite adversity. She stands out for her nobility and for always thinking of others. In fact, something that caught my attention in the first few chapters and moved me deeply is a scene where Annie is crying because she says she wants a mom and a dad. Candy kisses her forehead and says, "From now on, I'll be your mom." But you can't help but cry when Annie kisses her back and replies, "And I'll be your dad."
Lo que siempre me gustó de este personaje es su personalidad optimista, alegre y altruista, es increíblemente resiliente y a pesar de las adversidades sigue adelante, destaca por su nobleza y por pensar siempre en los demás, de hecho algo que me llamó la atención de los primeros capítulos y que me conmovió muchísimo es una escena donde Annie está llorando porque dice que quiere tener una mamá y un papá, entonces Candy le da un beso en la frente y le dice, "De ahora en adelante yo seré tu mamá" pero no puedes evitar llorar cuando Annie la besa de vuelta y le responde "y yo seré tu papá"
Furthermore, she's not one of those people who wait for everything to fall into their laps; she works hard to achieve what she wants. Even though she was eventually adopted by a powerful, wealthy, and influential family, that's how she got into nursing school, where she stood out for her cheerful and talkative personality. I loved the stark contrast she made with Flamy Hamilton (a girl with a cold and sometimes bitter temperament). However, Flamy wasn't a bad person; she was just very serious, diligent, and focused on her studies and work to avoid her problems. Candy, on the other hand, sometimes acted clumsily and had a somewhat wild temper, but it was precisely her temperament that allowed her to connect with her patients. I loved that episode where the head nurse, Mary Jane, said that the combination of Candy and Flamy would make the perfect nurse.
Además ella no es de esas personas que esperan a que todo les caiga del cielo, ella trabaja duro para conseguir lo que quiere, aun y cuando finalmente fue adoptada por una familia poderosa, rica e influyente, fue así como entró en la escuela de enfermeras, donde destacó por su personalidad alegre y dicharachera. Allí me gustaba el gran contraste que ella hacía con Flamy Hamilton (una chica de temperamento frío y a veces amargado) sin embargo Flamy no era una mala persona, solo era muy seria, diligente y se concentraba en el estudio y su labor para evadir sus problemas, Candy en cambio a veces actuaba con torpeza y tenía un temperamento algo alocado pero era precisamente su temperamento el que la hacía conectar con sus pacientes. Me encantó ese episodio donde la jefa de enfermeras, Mary Jane, dijo que la mezcla entre Candy y Flamy harían la enfermera perfecta.
