Ayer en la mañana fue un día con un clima terrible, desde que amaneció estuvo lloviendo torrencialmente, y eso me tenía un poco preocupada porque debía encargarme de algunos asuntitos y de verdad estaba lloviendo demasiado, pero bueno, finalmente a eso de las once de la mañana la lluvia amainó un poco y fue cuando decidí salir bajo la protección de mi paraguas. Ahh aunque casi olvido contarles que cuando estaba en la parada del autobús tuve que regresarme a casa porque había olvidado mi tarjeta de débito 🤦♀ nada más y nada menos, pero menos mal que lo recordé a tiempo. >Yesterday morning was a day with terrible weather. It had been raining heavily since dawn, and that had me a little worried because I had to take care of a few things and it was really raining too hard. But finally, around eleven in the morning, the rain let up a little, and that's when I decided to go out under the protection of my umbrella. Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that when I was at the bus stop, I had to go back home because I had forgotten my debit card, but luckily I remembered in time.
Lo primero que hice fue ir a la oficina de correos a retirar un paquete que era para mi hermana (ella no podía retirarlo por estar en el trabajo) Para colmo no había electricidad en el centro de la ciudad 😒, supongo que el aguacero tan intenso tuvo mucho que ver eso, pero afortunadamente (como ya es costumbre) había muchas tiendas usando generadores eléctricos, y afortunadamente la oficina de correos no era la excepción, así que pudieron realizar el proceso sin problemas, simplemente pagué el costo del envío, firmé la planilla de recibimiento y listo.
The first thing I did was go to the post office to pick up a package that was for my sister (she couldn't pick it up because she was at work). To make matters worse, there was no electricity in the city center 😒. I guess the heavy rain had a lot to do with that, but fortunately (as usual) many stores were using electric generators, and luckily the post office was no exception, so they were able to complete the process without any problems. I simply paid the shipping cost, signed the receipt form, and that was it.
Menos mal que al menos ya había dejado de llover completamente cuando salí de la oficina de correos con el paquete. Jaja 😂ignoren el estado de mi cabello, la humedad hizo lo propio, generando el frizz suficiente en mi cabello como para darme el aspecto de un erizo de mar 😄. De todos modos ya que me encontraba en el casco histórico de la ciudad de Valencia, en Venezuela (el cuál me gusta muchísimo) decidí tomar algunas fotos para ustedes mientras me desplazaba hacia los otros lugares a los que yo debía ir para completar mis funciones del día, así que acompáñenme.
Thankfully, it had stopped raining completely by the time I left the post office with the package. Haha, please ignore the state of my hair; the humidity did its thing, causing enough frizz to make me look like a sea urchin. Anyway, since I was in the historic center of the city of Valencia, Venezuela (which I really like), I decided to take some pictures for you while I was on my way to the other places I had to go to complete my tasks for the day, so come with me.
Ignorando mi cara de loca 😄 allá detrás ustedes pueden ver la plaza Sucre, la segunda más importante después de la plaza Bolívar. El resplandor del cielo no me dejó enfocar apropiadamente el objetivo pero allá detrás, esa casona amarilla que se ve en la foto es la escuela de teatro Ramón Zapata (fue donde yo estudié aunque no completé mi formación) También funcionó como escuela de ballet por muchos años (todavía recuerdo con nostalgia cuando traíamos a mi hermanita aquí a practicar ballet cuando tenía unos cuatro años) La plaza está frente a la cede de gobierno o capitolio.
Ignoring my crazy face 😄, in the background you can see Plaza Sucre, the second most important square after Plaza Bolívar. The glare from the sky prevented me from focusing properly on the subject, but in the background, that big yellow house you can see in the photo is the Ramón Zapata theater school (where I studied, although I didn't complete my training). It also functioned as a ballet school for many years (I still remember with nostalgia when we brought my little sister here to practice ballet when she was about four years old). The plaza is in front of the government headquarters or capitol.
Y aquí precisamente tenemos el capitolio o cede de gobierno regional, es el lugar desde el cuál trabaja el gobernador del estado. Es un lugar muy bonito al que solo he entrado una vez en una visita guiada, Hace más o menos 300 años funcionó como un convento, por esa razón desde una esquina se puede ver una cúpula en la que funcionaba una capilla, además, adentro hay muchas obras pintadas por pintores locales famosos como Martín Tovar y Tovar, es decir, uno de los artistas plásticos más célebres que tuvimos en Venezuela en el siglo XIX
And here we have the capitol building, or regional government headquarters, which is where the state governor works. It's a very beautiful place that I've only been inside once on a guided tour. About 300 years ago, it functioned as a convent, which is why you can see a dome in one corner where a chapel used to be. Inside, there are many works painted by famous local artists such as Martín Tovar y Tovar, one of the most celebrated visual artists we had in Venezuela in the 19th century.
Realmente fue paseo cortísimo pero es que en realidad yo debía encargarme de varias cosas ese día, sin embargo siempre me gusta admirar los sitios más bonitos que tiene mi ciudad y que además guardan un pedazo de historia, lo cuál es muy importante para mí porque esto habla de nuestros orígenes e idiosincrasia, y pues para mi fue un placer compartirlo con ustedes, gracias por la oportunidad 🤗, espero que les haya gustado.
It was a really short walk, but I had a lot of things to do that day. However, I always like to admire the most beautiful places in my city, which also hold a piece of history. This is very important to me because it speaks to our origins and idiosyncrasies. It was a pleasure to share this with you. Thank you for the opportunity. I hope you enjoyed it.
