Greetings, dear Open Mic community! What a joy to be able to gather one more week around the music and experiences of all of us who make life in this community, this time with such a transcendental theme as the fight against oppression.
Throughout the history of the world, at many times we have had to fight against injustice, even today, every person is in a constant struggle to assert their justice and be somehow recognized.
The song I chose for this week is by the people's singer, as the great Alí Primera was known, remembered for dedicating his music to the social struggle. The song is called Canción Mansa para un Pueblo Bravo, from the album of the same name released in 1976.
For the historical moment that Venezuela was living, at the time this song was released, the people demanded social justice and equality and I feel that it is still very valid, because the people still need to not feel that they are drowning in oppression and that their struggle is not in vain.
I remember that I heard this song thanks to a record by the sons of Alí Primera and it is that version the track that accompanies me today, I hope you like it.

A lo largo de la historia del mundo, en muchos momentos se ha tenido que luchar contra injusticias, incluso hoy en día, cada persona está en una lucha constante por hacer valer su justicia y ser de alguna manera reconocidos.

El tema que escogí para esta semana es del cantor del pueblo, como fue conocido el gran Alí Primera, recordado por dedicar su música a la lucha social. La canción se llama Canción Mansa para un Pueblo Bravo, del álbum homónimo que salió en el año 1976.

Para el momento histórico que vivía Venezuela, al momento de salir esta canción, el pueblo demandaba justicia social e igualdad y siento que aún se mantiene muy vigente, pues el pueblo sigue necesitando no sentir que se ahoga en la opresión y que su lucha no es en vano.

Este tema recuerdo que lo escuché gracias a un disco de los hijos de Alí Primera y es esa versión la pista que me acompaña el día de hoy, espero que sea de su agrado.
