So this might be a little bit ordinary for everyone but for me and my mom, this is one of the many things that changed our lives.

Back when we still have a mini grocery, my mom always enjoyed eating rice. Most of the time, we eat fried rice in the morning and mind you, we don't do "1 cup rice". As long as our plate can fit it, we'll be adding more rice (Just imagine Mt. Fuji on a plate). Diet was never on our vocabulary. It was pur bonding moments. We pair it with dried salted fish (tama ba yun? English ng Tuyo? 🤣) or RED egg with ripe RED tomatoes...and it would never be complete without those RED chilis. It's simple but full of carbs/cholesterol. That went on till one time, mama was diagnosed with high blood sugar that might lead to diabetes. She said it's almost on the border line of being a diabetic person.

With that, she panicked and started to lessen her rice intake. And this is where the "Red Labeled Bread" came into her life. It's a wheat bread from Valley Bread brand. At first, we didn't like the taste since it was so bland and has a rough texture. She continued eating every morning and small portion rice during lunch plus no dinner at all.I didn't like it at all actually but what can I do? It is whats best for us so I also trained my taste buds to like it. Though I still eat rice and don't have discipline in eating, atleast now, I'm used to eating that wheat bread.

She continued this for years and that's why she never had diabetes. She also lose weight and is only maintaining it now. She's actually sexier than me. 🤣.

And so, last june, I was diagnosed with fatty liver. I couldn't believe it at first since Im not into alcoholic drinks. I thought i was just obese but no. I got depressed. Tried to deny but at the back of my mind, I should treat it to stay alive and healthy for my family.

Just today, I had my 2nd appointment to a specialist and Thanks God because all I have to do is to have diet and exercise. He said it is still irreversible and can be treated naturally. This is why I have to eat right now and exercise to remove the fats that have overstayed in my body.

I don't have a problem with me being fat... i don't get offended when being called mama pig or the likes but I still want to be healthy. 😅. That's why I am now telling myself to follow my mama's footsteps and eat that Red Labeled Bread. Hope I can do it!

Thank you for taking your time to read my blog. 😁. Stay healthy folks and take care of your liver!
