Era yo muy pequeña, cuando pusieron línea telefónica en casa. Tendría cuando mucho unos 6 años cuando llegó el técnico a instalar cables y colocar un aparato gris de disco, justo cerca de la puerta que daba a la cocina. No sabía qué era ni para que se usaba, y merodeaba como gato curioso, esperando descifrar el por qué estaba ahí, hasta que repicó con gran fuerza, y me asusté.
Desde entonces han pasado unas cuantas (demasiadas, diría yo) lunas, pero todavía recuerdo anécdotas con el fulano aparato, al que luego le colocaron un candado, primero en el orificio que indicaba el número 9, luego en el del número 1, para que nadie pudiera "robar" las llamadas.
Fueron muchas las oportunidades cuando mi abuelita materna llamaba para hablar con mamá, quien le preguntaba si había pedido permiso para usar el teléfono, pues era capaz de estar una hora en llamada, a lo que ella respondía en su inocencia que estaba sola en la casa, por lo que nadie sabría de esa indiscreción de su parte, pues desconocía que en la factura de cobro aparecería la fecha, hora y el número discado.
El doble teléfono
En las telenovelas, era frecuente ver como en una misma casa, espiaban las conversaciones telefónicas, cuando en una casa había más de dos aparatos, pero al ser ficción, yo pensaba que se trataba de solo trucos para que la villana de la trama se enterara de cosas que podría usar luego en sus malvados planes.
Ese truco quedó sepultado en mi memoria hasta que muchos años después, levanté la bocina del teléfono de la oficina donde trabajaba para hacer una llamada de trabajo, y sin querer escuché una conversación con quien era mi pareja, en un tono romántico con otra mujer. En este caso no fui la villana, pero si fue el atenuante para terminar la relación.
Falso teléfono
Cuando papá logró comprar su apartamento propio, este no tenía línea telefónica por estar en las afueras de la ciudad, y yo que acostumbraba usar el teléfono casi a diario para hablar con mis amigas o mis tías, extrañaba no poder hacerlo, así que me ideé un plan.

Con papel le hice los números y los pegué en la parte que quedaba fija en la pared, y hacía como si marcara los teléfonos, para luego instalarme a conversar sola por largos períodos de tiempo. En mi caso, mi número de teléfono actual, al parecer perteneció a muchas personas (hombres y mujeres) de mala paga, que compran a crédito y luego dejan de pagar. En esas caí solo una vez, cuando me pidieron ver y darle like a unos videos a cambio de un pago, hice todo y me depositaron lo ofrecido, pero para ir al siguiente nivel debía pagar... se quedaron esperando mi respuesta.
Y pudiera seguir con más cuentos, pues la verdad se presta para hacer bromas, estafar a incautos y hasta amedrentar con amenazas infundadas. Por eso, la mejor recomendación es no aceptar llamadas o mensajes desconocidos, así como tampoco andar "robando" llamadas, pues siempre habrá alguien que se entere de lo que haces.
