A veces las cosas que tenemos planificadas, se nos adelantan y debemos tomar la decisión en pocos segundos. Lo bueno en estos casos, es pensar rápido y en algunos casos, montarse en la ola y luego ver como surfearla.
Algunos meses atrás empecé un proyecto para hacer una especie de cajonera para colocar la ropa de mi hijo mayor, ya que había una parte en mi gavetero y otra en el closet, y quería que estuviera toda accesible para él en el mismo lugar.
Desafortunadamente funcionó por poco tiempo, ya que entre el peso de la ropa, y las travesuras de mi gatita, se deformó y a cada rato se caía, teniendo que ordenar todo por lo menos una vez al día. Así que entre mis proyectos estaba el comprar un mueble de madera solo para las cosas de mi hijo mayor.
Obviamente, estaba en la lista de por comprar a mediano o largo plazo, pues todavía tengo deudas pendientes que deseaba saldar antes de adquirir una nueva. Hoy tenía pendiente el pago del alquiler, pero la casera llegó cuando estaba en mi trabajo, por lo que tuve que pedir permiso para llegarme a casa a darle el dinero, y por suerte, vi que estaban sacando muebles de un local ubicado en la parte de abajo del edificio que también le pertenece.
Mientras estuvo abierto, llegué a comprar ahí varios de los muebles de la casa: comedor, las camas de mis hijos y hasta un sofá, por lo que sé que son de calidad, así que cuando me dijeron que estaban vendiéndolos ellos, para liquidar la deuda que dejó la arrendataria, pregunté si tenían algún gavetero.
Entré al local y pude ver lo que queda dentro, así que luego de comparar entre 3 tipos de cajoneras como le llaman acá, me decidí por uno de 5 gavetas, que son bastante amplias. De hecho, hace ya varios años había comprado mi gavetero que es del mismo alto, pero con 4 gavetas completas y dos pequeñas, así que este le viene bien para hacer el par.
Cuando pregunté el precio, una voz interna me gritaba ¡cómo lo vas a pagar! y entré en conciencia de que me estaba dejando llevar, sin saber la manera de poderlo adquirir, pero cuando me aclaró que podía pagarlo por partes, de inmediato busqué a mi hijo para que ayudara a subirlo a casa.
Dejé el mueble en medio de la sala y volví al trabajo. De regreso, cual niña con juguete nuevo, lo limpié del polvo que tenía acumulado, con la "ayuda" de mi gatita y lo coloqué en el lugar donde va a estar de manera permanente, para luego empezar a mudar las cosas de mi hijo, para quien esta compra resultaba algo muy simple.
Reconozco que fue algo compulsivo, aunque también lo veo como aprovechar el sentido de oportunidad, recordando el consejo que me diera una amiga hace mucho tiempo, quien me recomendaba adquirir bienes a crédito, pues al sentir la presión por hacer el pago, nos esforzaríamos para cumplir con el compromiso y así lograría ir comprando todo aquello que necesitara.
Por lo pronto, tengo el gavetero para organizar las cosas de mi hijo y desahogar el closet, además de ganar un espacio adicional para clasificar mejor mis prendas de ropa.

A few months ago I started a project to make a kind of chest of drawers to put my oldest son's clothes, since there was a part in my dresser and another in the closet, and I wanted it to be all accessible to him in the same place.
Unfortunately it worked for a short time, since between the weight of the clothes, and the antics of my kitten, it was deformed and every now and then it fell down, having to sort everything at least once a day. So among my projects was to buy a wooden furniture just for my oldest son's things.
Obviously, it was on the list to buy in the medium or long term, because I still have outstanding debts that I wanted to settle before acquiring a new one. Today I had a rent payment due, but the landlady arrived while I was at work, so I had to ask permission to come home to give her the money, and luckily, I saw that they were taking furniture out of a store located at the bottom of the building that also belongs to her.
While it was open, I bought several pieces of furniture for the house: dining room, my children's beds and even a sofa, so I know they are quality, so when they told me they were selling them to pay off the debt left by the tenant, I asked if they had any drawers.
I went into the store and could see what was inside, so after comparing between 3 types of drawers as they call them here, I decided on one of 5 drawers, which are quite spacious. In fact, several years ago I had bought my drawer unit which is the same height, but with 4 full drawers and two small ones, so this one fits the pair.
When I asked the price, an internal voice shouted to me “how are you going to pay for it!” and I became aware that I was letting myself go, not knowing how to acquire it, but when he told me that I could pay for it in parts, I immediately looked for my son to help me carry it up to the house.
I left the furniture in the middle of the living room and went back to work. On my way back, like a little girl with a new toy, I cleaned it from the accumulated dust, with the “help” of my kitty and placed it in the place where it will be permanently, and then I started to move my son's things, for whom this purchase was something very simple.
I recognize that it was something compulsive, although I also see it as taking advantage of the sense of opportunity, remembering the advice a friend gave me a long time ago, who recommended me to acquire goods on credit, because by feeling the pressure to make the payment, we would make an effort to fulfill the commitment and thus I would be able to buy everything I needed.
For now, I have the dresser to organize my son's things and free up my closet, besides gaining additional space to better classify my clothes.
