I decided to stay one more week in Pai, Thailand. Mainly because I don't want to stress, and I have time (with not much of a defined itinerary for my travels). I wanted to stay someplace else since the place I had wasn't so peaceful (right next to a rather busy road). I drove around last week on a motorbike and decided on a new place. It's more peaceful here even though some sound/noise is always going on in Asia. I have had a rather bad headache since Christmas Eve now so it's been a bit of a challenge. I haven't had the energy to do much except go out to eat 3 times per day, do some work (not much with this headache), and do yoga.
I'll probably post more about my time here in Pai but now I want to focus on the amazing coffee I have discovered ๐
I don't drink so much coffee, back home usually only in the morning. I actually had a plan to kick the habit before I left for Thailand because I didn't want to feel that I had to have coffee in the morning. And I don't want to drink bad coffee. But well, that didn't happen and so far I think I have had coffee every day.
As I shared in my previous post, I'm so happy that oat milk can be found now in Thailand. It's my favorite milk in coffee. Of course, it's not available everywhere, but in vegan-friendly places like Pai or Chiang Mai, you can easily find places that offer it. You usually have to pay extra for it though (which is understandable).
So, already last week when I was out exploring I drove past this interesting-looking place, with a big coffee sign. Now I stay only a few minutes away on foot ๐ It's called Khaotha Coffee and they use locally produced coffee beans.
The decor of the place is very fascinating indeed, I feel I could spend hours here just looking at all the things that are on display. I don't know how they came up with all this stuff! You can tell this place is popular because in the mornings a lot of people come for coffee. I have had breakfast at a different place (this place mainly focuses on coffee, and not much food is available) and then come here to have my coffee to go as I want to get back to my place and start working.
And OMG this coffee is amazing! The best I have had in a long time. I have found myself coming back after lunch to order another one because it's so good. Not a habit I want to establish really (to also have coffee in the afternoon).
This place might look quiet, but I do my best to not take pictures of people (unless invited). I don't appreciate being in stranger's pictures but of course, when traveling, you get caught in pictures a lot. But this place actually has a sign saying not to take pictures of people's faces. I also appreciate that smoking (weed) isn't allowed here. I have already had enough of all the weed-smoking hippies here, they are everywhere.
Below is me enjoying this amazing coffee (americano with oat milk), despite a terrible headache, on my terrace.
That's it for now. Who knows, I might post more about coffee here in Thailand. Drinking coffee is not a habit I want to kick when you can find this superb quality โ๏ธ๐
