Hace ya mucho de mi último post, ¿cierto? Tampoco he estado comentando como solía hacerlo, casi a diario y varias veces. Me veían mucho más por aquí y de repente desaparecí. Pues resulta que mi vida cambió rápido hace un mes, ya no tengo tanto tiempo libre, pero por una muy buena razón: estoy en mi primera chamba (léase con la voz del meme). Hoy decidí contarles un poco de este mes y medio que ha pasado 💚

You saw me around here a lot more before, and then suddenly I disappeared. Well, it turns out my life changed pretty quickly a month ago. I don't have as much free time anymore, but for a very good reason: I'm on my first job. Today I decided to tell you a little about the past month and a half 💚

Hace dos años [terminé mi pasantía en psicología organizacional](https://peakd.com/hive-187189/@mandysmoon/esp-eng-termine-mi-pasantia-en-psicologia-organizacional-or-i-finished-my-organizational-psychology-internship), dónde tuve la oportunidad de aprender y aplicar mis conocimientos en una de las empresas más grandes del país, la corporación Bel. En su momento tenía muchas expectativas de quedarme trabajando allí de una vez, aunque sabía que eso era difícil porque realmente yo seguía estudiando y no contrataban a nadie por medio tiempo, que era mi disponibilidad en aquel entonces. Obviamente quedé algo triste por no poder continuar, pero no perdí la esperanza de algún día volver. Así que un mes después de terminar la universidad, decidí escribirle a quien fue mi tutora, solo por intentarlo, y para mi sorpresa su respuesta fue positiva. ¡Tenía mi primer trabajo como psicóloga!

Two years ago, [I finished my internship in organizational psychology](https://peakd.com/hive-187189/@mandysmoon/esp-eng-termine-mi-pasantia-en-psicologia-organizacional-or-i-finished-my-organizational-psychology-internship), where I had the opportunity to learn and apply my knowledge at one of the largest companies in the country, Bel Corporation. At the time, I had high hopes of staying there, although I knew it would be difficult because I was still studying and they weren't hiring anyone part-time, which was my available time back then. Obviously, I was a little sad about not being able to continue, but I didn't lose hope of returning one day. So, a month after finishing college, I decided to text my former mentor, just to give it a try, and to my surprise, her response was positive. I had my first job as a psychologist!

Estoy justamente haciendo las labores de una psicóloga organizacional, concretamente la parte de reclutamiento y selección de personal, por lo que debo revisar montones de CV, entrevistar a muchas personas en un solo día todos los días, contratar, publicar las búsquedas y un largo etcétera. Aunque no me corresponde el área de bienestar laboral que es la que más me gusta, la verdad es que en éste departamento no me aburro. Todos los días hay mucho que hacer, llego verdaderamente agotada a mi casa pero estoy aprendiendo mucho. Y finalmente, trabajar apenas terminas la universidad, sin siquiera recibir tu título aún, es una oportunidad de oro que no todos tienen, por lo que me siento sumamente afortunada.

I'm currently working as an organizational psychologist, specifically in the recruitment and selection department. This means I have to review tons of CVs, interview many people in a single day, hire, post job offers, and much more. Although I'm not responsible for employee wellness, which is my favorite area, I never get bored in this department. There's so much to do every day; I get home feeling completely exhausted, but I'm learning a lot. Finally, getting a job right out of college, without even receiving your degree, is a golden opportunity that not everyone has, so I feel incredibly fortunate.

Siento que he hecho demasiado en el último mes, pues al ser una corporación grande y en constante crecimiento, siempre se está buscando personal. De hecho, en apenas este primer mes ya he tenido que viajar por trabajo para entrevistar personal para un nuevo concesionario. Así que terminé conociendo un estado nuevo para mí en mi país y de paso, una experiencia nueva de trabajo. También he participado en actividades de bienestar para los trabajadores, desde el regreso a clases, una actividad para el equipo de trabajo y más. ¿Te parece mucho en poco tiempo? La verdad sí lo es, muchas veces me abruma todo el movimiento de trabajo porque es demasiado. Pero estoy en el proceso de adaptarme, intentando dar lo mejor de mí.

I feel like I've done too much in the last month, because being a large and constantly growing corporation, we're always looking for staff. In fact, in just this first month, I've already had to travel for work to interview staff for a new car dealership. So I ended up getting to know a new state in my home country and, in the process, a new work experience. I've also participated in employee wellness activities, from back-to-school activities to a team activity, and more. Does that seem like a lot in a short amount of time? The truth is, it often overwhelms me because all the work is just too much. But I'm in the process of adapting, trying to do my best.

Claro que no todos es color de rosas, también hay ciertas cosas que no me han gustado tanto. Pero lo positivo predomina, entre el aprendizaje, la emoción de dedicarme a lo que estudié por años, los nuevos retos, los nuevos amigos y en general, la nueva etapa de mi vida que espero dure un buen rato. Así que esta es la razón por la que no me han visto mucho por aquí. Espero poder organizarme para poder tener el tiempo para dedicarle a mi blog que es algo que extraño hacer. Pero insisto, el motivo era bueno. Este ha sido un poco de mi primer mes trabajando. Espero ir compartiendo más de esta experiencia con ustedes 💚

Of course, it's not all rose colored; there are also certain things I haven't enjoyed as much. But the positive stands out the most, including the learning process, the excitement of dedicating myself to what I studied for years, the new challenges, the new friends, and, in general, the new stage of my life that I hope will last for a long while. So, this is the reason why you haven't seen me around here much. I hope to get organized so I can have the time to dedicate to my blog, which is something I miss doing. But, I insist, the reason was good. This has been a glimpse of my first month working. I hope to share more of this experience with you 💚
