Hey there Splinterfam, welcome to this weeks edition of Battle Mage Secrets. Taking Sides, disallows the use of neutral cards, therefore you really have to play off the strengths of individual Splinters in accordance to what is available as well as the other rule sets mixed in. With the introduction of Rebellion on the 5th and the discontinuation of Untamed and Dice in Modern, Metas are changing, strategies and gameplay will need to adapt, exciting times for Splinterlands.

Whenever I see this ruleset, I automatically rule out the use of powerful cards such as Doctor Blight and I tend to look at the Dragon Splinter as I would be able to have the choice of more cards. Whist this was an option during this game, I chose to go with the Death Splinter, simply because, the players history boasted a Byzantine Kitty and I needed something to counter the healing effect, and I had not rented one, putting me at a massive disadvantage should I of used one of the alternative Dragon Splinters. I opted for Mimosa Night Shade. This particular Summoner eradicates healing in all forms unless there had been a cleanse or a Front Tank with Immunity.

This was also an amazing opportunity to use first Dual Splinter Card Zyriel, boasting weapons Training. I really wanted to use Mimosa as it would have countered the Magic Damage and Ranged Damage, allowing my units to cause max DPS. I added a few more units reducing the incoming Damage, which won me the game despite the opponent using Kitty. It is always satisfying to get a win from this particular Over Powered Summoner. I am really impressed with the Soul Bound Cards especially at Higher levels, they complemented this line up well. In hindsight, I would have changed the positioning of the Venari Bonesmith as I feel he could have better utilized, the life leach and poison would have been better used at the second to last position.

I was able to get a win, and score some hefty ranking points as well as SPS. Should Fury not have been a rule set, I may have gone Earth Splinter, with a sustain team as well as high damage through Ancient Red Wood but I feel against a kitty I would have lost. I was worried that the additional speed would have made the void dragon impossible to hit, however RNG prevailed.

Some other potential line ups based on the current ruleset could have been:

Earth

• Immortalis • Failed Summoner • Khmer Princess • Queen Mycelia • Goblin Psychic • Runemaster Flore • Ancient Redwood

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I do hope that it is of use and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to comment below, alternatively come and have a chat in our discord.
