Old brick and roof tile pieces turned out to be especially good for one thing. Being ground into grog. Fine partials of previously fired clay to be mixed in a small proportion with new and plastic clay. So, grinding I am. I already got the clay.
Kneading, shaping, firing are future concerns. Not too distant, I hope. But lots of work is to be done first.
