Hello dear Steem-Community,

How I found out about Steemit?
A couple of months ago, I got fascinated with Bitcoin, once I truly understood the mechanics behind its Blockchain Technology. As for many Crypto-enthusiast Bitcoin was my entrance into Cryptocurrencies. With time I got to know more and more about other Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain-Projects, like Steemit. I invested in Steemit for profit reasons first.
Why I joined Steemit?
In order to get a better feeling about my investment, I joined the Platform to experience the use-case first hand.
Why I stayed in Steemit?
It didn’t take long to understand that Steemit is ( at least for me) the first real use-case, that the average people can understand,…
„Are you on Facebook?“ „Yes“
„Do you get rewarded for the content you produce on Facebook?“ „No“
„Steemit is like Facebook. But unlike on Facebook, on Steemit you are getting rewarded for valuable content you create.“
„Is it for free?“ „Yes. In the WORST Case, you earn Zero on Steemit. That is the BEST case on Facebook.“
Why I will stay in Steemit?
I believe in the evolution of how people change value with each other. For me, one part of this is Steemit.
Why and what will I post on Steemit?
While there are more and more people joining Steem, there is a big lack of understanding the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies like Steem or Bitcoin. How is it working under the hood? To be honest, I often got confused in the beginning when started reading about Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain. The crypto-related words appeared too fast. I was not familiar with topics like "SHA-256", "cryptography", "PoW/PoS etc." My approach here is to offer some fundamental understanding through well-known daily analogies. Post by Post, these analogies will be filled with real world concepts and technology. It is very important that every Steemian has at least a very basic understanding what is happening under the hood of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain. So he can interact accurate and responsible with the platform. Picking people up on a very abstract level via analogies, and dig down together is my approach.
Advice?
Go to MeetUps, if you have the chance. I just came back from my first STEEM-MeetUp here in Berlin and I am happy, that I joined. You meet very interesting people from different cultures, ages, content, fields of interest. And you all share the Believe behind STEEM and its disruptive potential. You will gain a lot from such meetings, for you personal and Steem development.
