Good evening all traveling friends. Welcome to my travel blog today. I went to visit a riverside spot. This riverbank is located in Gaibandha district under Rangpur division of Bangladesh. The ghat on this river is known as Balasi Ghat. Coming here, I enjoyed the natural beauty.

From this ghat, one can enjoy many scenic views and the charm of nature. It is famous for its vast waters stretching far and wide. During sunrise in the morning or sunset in the evening, this ghat becomes even more attractive. We arrived here in the afternoon. Due to rain, we were delayed in starting our journey. It took us about one hour to reach Gaibandha from Gobindaganj. We went by bike. For the first time, I saw such a big river. And now it’s the rainy season, so the water level has risen, and the river is overflowing. In the middle of the river, some high grounds have formed small islands. During floods, these areas go underwater. I noticed that even here, people build small houses and live. If the place gets submerged, they move to another location and rebuild their homes. For markets or other needs, they travel by boats.

Many people here earn their livelihood by fishing, which they do with boats. Besides, tea stalls, food hotels, and passenger ferry businesses also provide income for many locals. This place is not only famous for its natural beauty but also very important for the livelihood and communication of the local people.

Around Balasi Ghat, there are clear signs of river erosion. Every year during the monsoon, erosion occurs, yet people rebuild their lives around the ghat again. The vast spread of the river, rows of boats, and the endless horizon of water create a mesmerizing sight. Morning fog and evening sunsets make it a place filled with natural beauty.

So, without any delay, I set out with my loved one for the ghat. On reaching, I saw a large crowd of people. Around the ghat, there were many kashful (wild white grass flowers) that enhanced the beauty of the place even more.

There were many hotels, food stalls, and boats around the ghat. We bought some peanuts and then hired a boat. The boat fare was 100 taka per person.

From the boat, the scenery was so mesmerizing that it cannot be expressed in words. Along with it came the refreshing natural breeze. The most beautiful view was during the evening, which became a memory of a lifetime for me.

Balasi Ghat is truly a reflection of nature and the riverine beauty of Bangladesh, a remarkable symbol of the country’s scenic diversity.
