Hello my dear lovely Hive DIY community friends! Welcome to my todayâs blog! I hope all of you are doing great and spending your days beautifully. Iâm also doing well, keeping myself busy â but in between work, I always try to decorate something or create something new. Giving a new look to everyday items at home brings me a special kind of joy.

Every girl loves to keep her home organized and cozy, right? And when you create something with your own hands, it becomes even more precious â a memory filled with love and creativity.

When I was a child, I learned art for about three to four years. I used to enjoy art classes a lot at school, and I think that experience still helps me today whenever I try to decorate fabrics or make something artistic. I really love painting and hand-decorating items â it feels so satisfying when people appreciate your handmade work.
First, I took some fabric colors â white, blue, red, green, and golden. Then I prepared a frame for the pillow cover on which I planned to do the artwork. The pillow cover was red in color, and I also took a few different types of brushes.
To prevent the color from staining the opposite side, I placed a piece of cloth inside the pillow cover. After that, I stretched the cover tightly over the frame and secured it firmly so that it stayed smooth and steady while painting.

So today, I thought of trying something new using the fabric colors I already had at home. I had a plain red pillow cover, which looked quite empty and simple. I wasnât really using it. One day my grandmother gave me a pillow, and coincidentally, that red cover fit perfectly! So I thought â why not paint it and give it a new look instead of leaving it unused?
I took out my brushes and colors and started painting on the cover. At first, I couldnât decide what to draw. Then I thought â letâs keep it simple. I love tulip flowers, so I decided to paint some tulips!

I used a few different types of brushes â some were quite old and a bit stiff because I hadnât used them for a long time. I didnât have turpentine at home, so I used them as they were (but if you soak your brushes in turpentine for a while, they become soft again).
First, I used red and white fabric colors to paint the tulips. Then I thought it would look even better with some blue flowers, so I added a few of those too. It looked really pretty! Later, I added some green leaves and stems to give it a natural look.
Finally, I outlined the flowers with golden color, which made the design pop beautifully. My plain, simple red pillow cover turned into a bright and elegant floral one! My mom was so happy when she saw it â she appreciated my work a lot.

These fabric colors last quite long, and even if they fade, it happens slowly. I often use them to paint clothes as well â Iâve shared a few before!
Those of you who love crafting and home dĂŠcor can easily try this too. You can decorate your bedsheets, cushion covers, or tablecloths using this simple tulip design. It gives your home a lovely handmade touch.
After painting this cover, I got inspired to try many more designs. I plan to create more handmade items for my new home and share them with all of you here soon!
Iâd love to know what you think about my tulip painting â how do you like the color combination and the overall design? Let me know in the comments! đˇ
If you have some fabric colors at home, definitely give it a try â the result is truly beautiful!
Thank you so much for reading my blog.
See you all in the next DIY post! đ
