Splinterlands Art Contest Week 370 | Buttercup Mauler

 Good morning, my dear readers and members of the #Hive artistic community. Happy Tuesday to everyone reading this here this morning. My name is Manuel, for those of you who are new and don't know me yet, and this is my art blog, the place where I like to share all my daily work and creations. On this occasion, I bring you my entry for this week for the dynamic of my dear friends in the #Splinterlands community. This time, I wanted to go for mystical characters, which is why I chose the card (Buttercup Mauler), which is about a seemingly innocent and cheerful forest creature that enjoys nature and the company of other beings. She is able to move invisibly to spy on her enemies, whom she attacks with her horns, staining her crown of buttercups with blood... I hope you like it, and here I will show you a little of the process of creating this work: >*Muy buenos días mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de la comunidad artística de #Hive, feliz martes para todos los que me leen por aquí en este mañana, mi nombre es Manuel para todos aquellos que sean nuevos y que aun no me conozcan, y este es mi blog de arte, el lugar donde me gustar compartir todos mis trabajos y creaciones del día a día. En esta oportunidad vengo a traerles mi entrada de esta semana para la dinámica de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Splinterlands, en esta ocasión quise irme hacia los personajes místicos, y por eso me decante por la carta de (Buttercup Mauler), el cual trata de una criatura del bosque aparentemente inocente y alegre que disfruta de la naturaleza y de la compañía de otros seres; Ella es capaz de moverse invisiblemente para así espiar a sus enemigos, a quienes ataca con sus cuernos, tiñendo de sangre su corona de ranúnculos…espero les guste y aquí les mostrare un poco del proceso de creación de esta obra:* ### PROCESS / PROCESO  In this case, I started by creating a basic sketch of the card (Buttercup Mauler). I opted for a slightly more frontal structure of the character and a more portrait-like style so that I could focus better on the character's distinctive features, such as the large horns on her head, her elongated ears, and her slender eyes. Once the line art was complete, I moved on to the next step, which was choosing the colors. In this case, I opted for a slightly sandier color palette to give the character's skin a more personalized touch. I also wanted to use a combination of brushes, such as the airbrush, to first capture the base and volume of the body, and then watercolor to better define the deep shadows. >*En este caso comencé creando un boceto básico de la carta (Buttercup Mauler), en este caso opté por una estructura un poco más frontal del personaje y un estilo mas retrato para así centrarme mejor en los detalles característicos del personaje como es la gran cornamenta sobre su cabeza, o sus alargadas orejas y finos ojos. Culminado el Lineart me pase al siguiente paso que sería la elección de los colores, en este caso opte por una paleta de colores un poco mas arenosa para darle un toque más personalizado a la piel del personaje, también quise hacer una combinación de pinceles como el aerógrafo para ir primero plasmando la base y el volumen del cuerpo, y luego la acuarela para definir mejor las sombras profundadas.*    In the second stage, I focused a little more on defining the personality of (Buttercup Mauler), so I picked up my airbrush again and began to create a subtle warming effect in the middle of the face, including the eyelids, nose, and inner ears. then for the eye area, I used a few olive green tones to capture a somewhat tender and friendly look, which I nuanced a little more with highlights around the edges. In the case of the characteristic horns that this character wears on his head, I decided to use a brown and yellow color palette to give the horns a texture somewhat similar to wood. I also used a small brush to form some cracks and give both horns a more realistic look. >*En la 2da etapa me centre un poco mas en definir la personalidad de (Buttercup Mauler), así que tome nuevamente mi pincel de aerógrafo y comencé a crear un sutil efecto de calidez en la zona media de la cara, incluyendo los parpados, nariz y la parte interna de las orejas; luego para el aparatado de los ojos use unos cuantos tonos verde oliva para plasmar una mirada un tanto tierna y amigable, lo cual matice un poco mas con los brillos en los bordes. En el caso del a cornamenta tan característica que porta este personaje sobre su cabeza decidí usar una paleta de colores marrón y amarilla para darle a los cuernos una textura un poco similar a la madera, también usé un pincel pequeño para formar algunas grietas y darles un mejor realismo a ambos cuernos.*    For the hair, I used a slightly browner color palette. With watercolors, I painted the base, giving her hair a wavy appearance. Then, with my bristle brush, I created a better surface texture that gave the hair relief and volume. Next, I set about creating the character's clothing. To do this, I used a couple of green tones and a little yellow to create a kind of elegant dress. With the greens, I created the base of the dress, giving it a shiny texture, and then with the yellows and oranges, I created a slightly more solid surface texture that resembled pure gold around the edge of the bust and on the shoulder pads. >*Para el trabajo del cabello use una paleta de colores un poco más café, con la acuarela fui plasmando la base dándole una apariencia ondulada a su cabellera, luego con mi pincel de cerdas fue creando una mejor textura superficial que le diera relieve y volumen al cabello. Posteriormente me encargue de construir la vestimenta del personaje, para esto tome un par de tonos verdes y un poco de amarillo para crear una especie de vestido elegante, con los verdes cree la base del vestido dando textura brillante, y luego con los amarillos y naranjas cree una especie de textura superficial un poco mas solidad que se asemejara al oro puro en la zona del borde del busto, y también en las hombreras.*     ### MATERIALS / MATERIALES ###### REFERENCE [](https://next.splinterlands.com/maintenance?reason=maintenance) - Sai Paint Tool Program - Huion inspiroy h610 v2 tablet >- *Programa Paint Tool Sai* >- *Tableta Huion inspiroy h610 v2*  Well, ladies and gentlemen, that's all for now.
