Zingtober Day 17: ORNATE 🐢

Good evening, my dearest readers of #Hive. I hope you are all doing well and, of course, having a wonderful evening. Once again, your friend Manuel here is very happy to share a new artistic post for my blog. This time, I bring you an illustration focused on the dynamics of #Zingtober by my dear friends from the #Holozing community. In this case, it is an illustration corresponding to day 17 of the challenge. but since I had some problems with my USB drive, I thought I had lost the file. It wasn't until two days ago that I was able to recover it, and I didn't want to lose the drawing, so that's why I'm bringing it to you today. >*Felices noches mis queridísimos lectores y lectoras de #Hive, espero que se encuentren super bien y que, por supuesto estén teniendo una maravillosa tarde, por aquí los saluda una vez más su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. Esta vez vengo a traerles una ilustración enfocada en la dinámica del #Zingtober de mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de #Holozing, en este caso se trata de una ilustración correspondiente al día 17 del reto, pero como tuve algunos problemas con mi memoria USB creí que había perdido el archivo y fue hasta hace 2 días que pude recuperarlo y no querida dejar perder el dibujo, así que es por ello que se los traigo el día de hoy.*  The word corresponding to this drawing was "Ornate," which translates as decorated or flowery, so the idea I had was to create the turtle (Glimmo) from the #Holozing game as if it were walking along a path when suddenly it turns to look over its shoulder and realizes that it has a bunch of roses and flowers decorating its back: >*La palabra correspondiente para este dibujo era (Ornate), que se traduce como adornado o florido, entonces la idea que tuve fue la de crear a la tortuga (Glimmo) del juego de #Holozing como si estuviese caminando por un sendero, cuando de repente voltea a ver hacia arriba de su espalda, y se da cuenta que tiene un montón de rosas y flores adornando su espalda:* ### PROCESS / PROCESO ###### REFERENCE [](https://peakd.com/hive-131131/@holozing/new-creatures-zingtober-event-finished-alpha-vials)  I started my work as usual, making a good sketch to help guide me more or less on what I wanted to do. In this case, I drew the turtle (Glimmo) walking on four legs as turtles usually do, but respecting the characteristic features and proportions of its head and arms. Once I finished the sketch, I was able to move on to the next step, which was coloring. Here, I started with a base of intermediate gray tones for the creature's basic body. In this case, I wanted to use only my airbrush brush to achieve a slightly smoother texture. >*Empecé con mi obra como es de costumbre, realizando un buen boceto que me ayude a guiar más o menos sobre lo que quiero realizar, en este caso dibuje a la tortuga (Glimmo) caminado en 4 patas como habitualmente lo hacen las tortugas, pero respetando los rasgos característicos y las proporciones con respecto a su cabeza y brazos. Bueno, una vez finalicé con el boceto pude pasarme al siguiente apartado que seria el apartado de coloreado, aquí empecé con una base de tonos grises intermedios para el cuerpo básico de la criatura, en este caso quise usar solo mi pincel de aerógrafo para lograr una textura un poco más lisa.*    Then, in the second stage, I focused on creating the texture for the turtle's shell. In this case, I used slightly darker grays to differentiate the shell from the texture of the turtle's skin. Here I used my watercolor brush to better define the divisions and details of the upper part of the shell, also creating some soft highlights on the edges. For the lower part of the abdomen, I repeated a process similar to that of the upper shell, only here I focused on creating more shadows. For the eyes, I used very dark grays to create fairly large eyes and pupils that would give Glimmo a little more expressiveness, as well as some highlights. >*Luego en la 2da etapa me dedique a crear la textura para el caparazón de la tortuga, en este caso si use grises un poco mas oscuros para diferenciar un poco el caparazón de la textura de la piel de la tortuga, aquí si use mi pincel de acuarela para definir un poco mejor las divisiones y detalles de la parte de arriba del caparazón, creando también algunas líneas de brillos suaves en los bordes; y para la parte baja del abdomen repetí un proceso similar al del caparazón de arriba, solo que aquí me centre en crear más sombras. En el caso de los ojos use unos grises full oscuros para crear unos ojos y una pupila bastante grandes que le dieran un poco mas de expresividad a (Glimmo), así como también algunos brillos.*    In the third stage, I created the decorative flowers on the turtle's back. In this case, I used dark grays to create some large roses in various areas of the back. Then, using grays that were slightly lighter than the base tone, I created some leaves and branches intertwined with each other to give everything a better finish. Finally, I decided to set the scene as if it were a kind of path with some trees on either side, which I created using dark grays. I also created some rocks on both sides of the path and, just below the turtle's legs, I created some grass or newly grown turf. >*En la 3ra etapa me encargue de crea lo que seria las flores de adorno sobre la espalda de la tortuga, en este caso use grises oscuros para crear algunas rosas de gran tamaño en varias zonas de la espalda; luego con grises un poco mas claros que el tono base cree algunas hoja y ramas entrelazadas unas con la otras para darle un mejor acabado a todo. Finalmente, se me ocurrió ambientar todo como si el escenario fuese una especie de camino con algunos arboles a los lados los cuales cree con grises oscuros, también cree algunas rocas a ambos lados del camino y justo debajo de las patas de la tortuga cree un poco de pasto o césped recién crecido.*     ### MATERIALS / MATERIALES - Sai Paint Tool Program - Huion inspiroy h610 v2 tablet >- *Programa Paint Tool Sai* >- *Tableta Huion inspiroy h610 v2* [](https://peakd.com/hive-131131/@holozing/zingtober-2025-event-and-achievements)  Well, guys and gals, that's all for now.
