### “The modern museum has multiple purposes - to curate and preserve, to research, and to reach out to the public. They challenge us and ask us to question our assumptions about the past or the world around us.” #### Kate Williams

During the last Holy Week, at the end of April, I was touring the city center taking advantage of the low traffic of those days, which in Venezuela as in many other countries, are usually holidays and of little work activity. Among the places I visited on that occasion, was the Museum of Barquisimeto, an old mansion built in the late nineteenth century to serve originally as a hospital, and after moving to a new location during the 50's, it was abandoned to be recovered later to establish the local museum there. Unfortunately I found it closed, I do not know if it was due to remodeling or as a consequence of the celebration of the holy days, but the truth is that I could not enter and visit its interior, although I did take some photos of its exterior facades. As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
