Hola, Queridos Hivers!
Ayer me sentí inspirada para hacer un dibujo lleno de devoción, amor y agradecimiento. Un dibujo dedicado al Dr. José Gregorio Hernandez.
Tenía tiempo ya queriendo hacerle un dibujo. Primero hice uno de Jesús con Oil Pastels, pero esta vez quería hacer algo más delicado, así que tomé mis colores, busqué algo de inspiración en Pinterest, y me puse manos a la obra.
Comencé con un boceto de su rostro siguiendo una foto común, y luego viendo otros dibujos se me ocurrió una idea interesante para agregarle el color. Decidí hacerlo colorido y con una técnica para colorear diferente: haciendo espirales.
Encontré una imagen sobre cómo agregar colores al rostro, como para el blush, las sobras, las luces (pero con diferentes colores, en vez de tonos diferentes del mismo, que es como solía hacerlo) y siguiéndola, hice lo siguiente. Por supuesto, usando diferentes tonos para darle más profundidad al dibujo.
El rostro se me hizo algo sencillo, pero para la bata y el sombrero estaba un poco nerviosa, ya que eran blanco y negro, y no se me ocurría mucho. Menos mal unifiqué mis técnicas para darle sombras al blanco, que es con beige, o azul claro, e hice espirales claritos en la bata. Para el negro solo usé gris, negro, y un poco de morado.
Luego le hice el Cerro Ávila, y una cruz de fondo. Ya sé que el Doctor no era caraqueño, pero fue aquí donde ayudó a sanar.
Me alegra mucho haber hecho este dibujo. Aún estoy pensando en si llevarlo a la casa museo que está por La Pastora, o conservarlo... Anyway, lo importante es que pude expresar esa gratitud mediante mi arte, y eso me alegra mucho. Espero que haya llegado.

Yesterday I felt inspired to create a drawing full of devotion, love, and gratitude. A drawing dedicated to Dr. José Gregorio Hernández.
I had wanted to draw him for a while. First, I did one of Jesus with oil pastels, but this time I wanted to do something more delicate, so I grabbed my paints, looked for some inspiration on Pinterest, and got to work.
I started with a sketch of his face, following a regular photo, and then, after looking at other drawings, I came up with an interesting idea for adding color. I decided to make it colorful and use a different coloring technique: spirals.
I found an image about how to add colors to the face, like for blush, shadows, and highlights (but with different colors, instead of different shades of the same color, which is how I usually do it), and following it, I did the following. Of course, using different shades to give the drawing more depth.
I found the face part fairly easy, but I was a little nervous about the robe and hat, since they were black and white, and I couldn't think of much. Luckily, I unified my techniques for adding shadows to the white, which is with beige or light blue, and I did light spirals on the robe. For the black, I only used gray, black, and a little purple.
Then I added Cerro Ávila (a mountain near Caracas) and a cross in the background. I know the doctor wasn't from Caracas, but it was here that he helped heal people.
I'm so happy I made this drawing. I'm still thinking about whether to take it to the museum house in La Pastora, or keep it... Anyway, the important thing is that I was able to express my gratitude through my art, and that makes me very happy. I hope it came across.
