The shiny days continue. Hearty appetite today, white blood cells are up a bit and platelets are on the upswing (from 27k a couple of days ago to +90k today).
Después del incidente de sangrado nasal de hace unos días, había quedado pendiente una consulta con la especialista. Vino temprano en la mañana y ratificó el tratamiento de mantenimiento (lavados de fosas nasales tres veces al día con solución y aplicación de crema para mantener hidratación). También solicitó un lápiz de nitrato de plata para cauterizar una región de una fosa nasal, pero ese aparato o ya no se consigue en las farmacias. Recorrí unas cuantas sin éxito.
After the nose bleeding incident a few days ago, there was a pending consultation with the specialist. She came early today. She ratified the treatment (washing the nostrils three times a day with solution and applying cream to maintain hydration). She also asked for a silver nitrate pencil to cauterize a region of one nostril, but this device is no longer available in pharmacies. I visited a few pharmacies without success.
Luego vinieron los acostumbrados exámenes de laboratorio.
Then came the daily blood tests.
Hoy tuvimos que pagar un poco más porque la hematología completa no se pudo hacer en el hospital.
We paid more today because one of the tests was not available at the hospital.
Luego, hubo que pagar por un electrocardiograma. Tampoco se hace en el hospital. Hay que pagarlo en un sitio cerca y el especialista viene a la habitación y lo realiza.
Then, we had to pay for an electrocardiogram. The hospital does not provide that service either, so we have to go across the street and have a specialist come to the room.
En la tarde tuvimos que ir a un lugar donde repararan teléfonos. El telefono tiene ya más de cuatro años y la batería estaba a punto de explotar. A estaba causando muchos inconvenientes y no podemos darnos el lujo de quedar sin telefono. Se le cambió la batería y parece estar funcionando bien.
In the afternoon we had to go to a phone repair shop. My wife's phone is 4 years old now and the battery was about to explode. It had been causing s lot of trouble and we needed that phone to be working properly. We paid for a new battery and waited for about an hour for them to install it.
Fue un día movido, con muchas salidas a la calle, muchas caminatas, pero los resultados de los exámenes y la evolución anímica de @manujune bien vale cada mandado. Falta poco para salir del hospital y empezar la siguiente etapa.
All in all, it was a busy day, with many errands to run, lots of walking, but the results of the tests and the evolution of @manujune's mood are worth every pain. It won't be long now until we get out of the hospital and start the next stage.
