Hey Actifitters,
Not a whole lot of steps yesterday but it was pretty eventful. First I picked up Kaia from the pet resort. She was so excited when she saw me, she pulled me out of there so fast! They gave her a bath just before I arrived, she was all clean and pampered! At home, after she checked literally everything in the house and the yard, she could finally relax.
In the afternoon, she had to inspect again the stump from the tree that was taken down while I was traveling. It's great for photos too.
And of course, there was the exploration behind the front yard after the big reunion with her sister Le Chat.
In spite of all that, the highlight of the day was still to come: Linkin Park concert at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Yeah, we didn't waste time, a concert the day after flying back. Who cares about jet lag?!!
We arrived there for the last three songs of the opening band PVRIS. That was pretty good, but like almost everybody else in the arena, we were of course there for Linkin Park only.
And here they were! For once we were much closer to the stage because I won the right to buy good seats for cheap. The stage was pretty cool by the way, in the center instead of the usual side.
They started with some classics to get the crowd going, then played some of their new tracks. PVRIS singer also joined them for one song. It was the last time PVRIS opened for Linkin Park on this tour, so it was emotional for them.
As someone who found Chester Bennington extremely talented, I was curious to see how Emily Amstrong would replace him. And she's very good! Obviously she's not trying to be like Bennington, she found her own sound and it fits very well. And damn can she scream too!
Mike Shinoda still can do it all. Before his short 'solo' moment, he gave a hat signed by the whole band to a kid in the pit. That was pretty cool.
Overall, a very cool show. This band has changed a lot over the years, and of course the tragedy of Chester Bennington, but they remain one of the icons of that genre.
Well, it was a great day, but like I said, not many steps, I didn't even make it over the bar for #poprzeczka competition. It's rare for me to drop the bar so early in the month. It's okay, I should be able to fix this mistake soon.
