Hey Actifitters,
I'm still trying to keep the rhythm for my running training, so a run was scheduled yesterday. But of course, we warmed up with a walk with Kaia. While exploring behind the front yard, she went on the road, even though she knows it's a big no-no while off-leash. So she had to suffer through a few down/stays, and it gave time for Le Chat to join us.
She even had time to eat plenty of grass until Kaia was released from her punishment stays.
After that, we quickly headed to the forest under the very attentive eyes of this cool squirrel. It was like frozen, not moving at all.
Nothing new in the forest, just our regular long route.
We're starting to see a little bit of colors within all that green. It's early I think. We had a few cool nights and that probably started the fall process early.
Like I mentioned in the past, if we keep going in this direction, we get close to the street and Kaia needs to be leashed.
She knows that, and of course went the other way. Smart girl!
Hunted for a few more mushrooms before Kaia led us out of the forest and back home.
Like I said, my run was next. I changed my mind again and went for a regular run, just a bit longer. Overall, about 12km at a decent pace. Now that I built a reasonable mileage base, I think I can start adding speed work in the mix. With just 6 weeks left before Detroit half marathon, although not ideal, my training is probably in better shape than most previous years. We'll see how it goes.
The activities for the day weren't entirely over because I noticed the bar for #poprzeczka competition was in reach, and another late play session in the yard with Kaia was more than enough, yay!! Probably the last time for August session though.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
