Am doing underground work to retain newbies. Powered Up 30 Hive today

‎Currently, am doing my best to make sure I help newbies to remain in the platform and retaining them requires time, energy and positive mindset. My reason for doing so is because for months or years ago, it is obvious that many newbies are not following us along because they have little knowledge and there was no one to carry them along, therefore, their interest became low and meager. To avoid such movement this time, am willing to do my very best in helping them out because I want all the newbies to feel the activeness and positiveness of hive platform.

‎There are several activities I have conducted locally to help our newbies. Let me relate few.

‎In one of the past Posts I made, I [reported](https://ecency.com/hive-152267/@marajah/the-hive-marketing-roadshow-i] how I onboarded 5 newbies to hive base on the hive-spendhbd-roadshow I and @michael700 conducted on a Saturday, then, by next Monday, 5 people out of all the people I invited attended the first newbie class that @fokusnow organized under journeyofahivean.

‎To help retain the 5 newbies, I arranged with them for a meetup. The purpose is to help them know and understand how to make a post in the system and to educate them on the basic requirement of their first task in the journeyofahivean.

‎I suggested 2 different venues for them, but they unanimously choose the most central venue for them which is No 2 glass industry off 7up junction located beside 7up company Aba. Our chosen time was 4pm, so I reached the venue by 4Pm. I was the first to arrive. I waited for them for a while, then, @phaunel001 and @ammyjah arrived. Few minutes later, @benispize and @ also joined. Then, the training started proper.

‎They asked several questions including:

‎- what is plagiarism?

‎- How can one know the best site to pick images from?

‎- How to drop source?

‎- Can we post pictures we have already posted in other social media platforms?

‎- Which app to use for markup?

‎- What is farming?

‎1. - What Is Plagiarism?: Plagiarism is the act of stealing any content that does not belong to you even if it is your best friend's content. Simply put, it is an act of robbery. I gave them this example to prove the level of plagiarism offense.

‎> If you should purchase a phone for your mother, reaching home, mom is not available, then you kept it waiting for her arrival. As soon as she returned home, your own immediate brother took the phone to your mother and told her that he bought phone for her, and on the process, mom gave him blessings. As soon as you realize what has happened, how will you feel? Each of them flew up with anger as if the scene is already happening. Infact, they manifested how angry they would be against their brother. Then, I said to them, that is exactly how the content owner would feel to see you taking glory over his or her own work.

‎- How Can One Know The Best Site To Pick Images From?: There are certain sites that are free like pixabay and pexels. To identify them, they usually present it as free. Therefore, one can ask Google about free sourced images.

‎- How To Drop Source: let me give example of how to do so. source inside the box where I wrote link is where you have to drop the link of the source material or image. So, after writing source the way I write it above, then bracket the link without giving a space.

‎- Images already posted in other social media platforms: The answer is NO. Hive doesn't welcome cross-posting. In my own word, I call it prostitution. Give hive what is genuine.

‎- Which App I For Markup?: I asked all of them to download imarkup and they did so. Imarkup is an app designed for easy markup like the one below. 👇

‎- What Is farming?: Farming is anything you will do to farm unnecessary reward from the system exceeding your limits. Things like posting twice a day, self vote, and things of that nature. I made it clear to them that they should wipe off the mentality that hive is money-making-machine rather, let them understand that they are not here to milk the system, instead, they're here to build the system with their various skills.

Powered Up 30 Hive Today

i have powered up 72 hive in the past 10 days

‎I also encouraged them to understand the importance of staking. From my example, they can see more reasons to keep on powering up. Living by example is the best teacher, that's why I powered up 30 HP today and for the past 20 days, I have powered up 123 Hive. Seeing how my stake is growing now have given me sense of belonging and commitment to the system.

‎Thanks for reading!!!

‎Have you powered up today? If no, please do. See, if you grow your stake, you're the one to benefit. Therefore, let's keep on powering up.
