_Quienes me conocen bien saben lo mucho que me gusta celebrar cada fecha y ocasión especial, el día de las madres es uno de ellos y aunque este año fue completamente diferente aún así no dejamos de celebrarlo._
>_Those who know me well know how much I love to celebrate every date and special occasion, Mother's Day being one of them and although this year was completely different, we still didn't stop celebrating it._
_En años anteriores la festejada en este día era mi suegra y el año pasado se unió mi cuñada a esta celebración. Este año, celebramos está fecha en otro país, por primera vez sin mi suegra pero aunque estamos lejos le hicimos llegar un regalo de nuestra parte al igual que a mi cuñada._
>_In previous years, my mother-in-law was the one celebrated on this day, and last year my sister-in-law joined in the celebration. This year, we celebrated this holiday in another country, for the first time without my mother-in-law, but even though we're far away, we sent her a gift from us, as well as my sister-in-law._
_Por otro lado, aunque no estábamos con mi suegra para celebrar este día de las madres ahora en este país tenemos a alguien más con quien celebrarlo y es la mamá de nuestra amiga Mau, la señora Mora, quien ha sido como una mamá adoptiva para nosotros y quien ha estado con nosotros desde el primer día que llegamos a este país._
>_On the other hand, although we weren't with my mother-in-law to celebrate this Mother's Day, now in this country we have someone else to celebrate it with and it is the mother of our friend Mau, Mrs. Mora, who has been like an adoptive mother to us and who has been with us since the first day we arrived in this country._
_Para no quedarnos sin hacer nada nos inventamos una parrillada para ese día y a pesar de que todos tuvimos que trabajar horario completo (y un poco mas) aun así llegamos directo preparando todo para llevar a cabo la celebración. Saliendo del trabajo nos fuimos a casa de Mau, cada uno contribuyó con algo para la parrilla y gracias a que habíamos comprado todo unos días antes no tuvimos que hacer la compra de último momento._
>_So we wouldn't be left without anything to do, we planned a barbecue for that day, and even though we all had to work full time (and a bit more), we still got right to it and got everything ready for the celebration. After work, we headed over to Mau's house. Everyone contributed something for the barbecue, and thanks to the fact we'd bought everything a few days before, we didn't have to do any last-minute shopping._
_Preparamos todo para asar, hicimos una ensalada, Jenny hizo una guasacaca y Mau preparó una torta y gelatina para completar la celebración. Los hombres se encargaron de asar todo mientras que las mujeres nos sentamos a conversar. Casi a las 9 de la noche estaba todo listo y nos sentamos a cenar. Disfrutamos de una deliciosa parrillada con todo y hasta quedó para llevar al trabajo al día siguiente. Sin duda fue una celebración bastante única y especial, y de esta manera además acompañamos a la señora Mora en su día, haciéndola sentir querida con regalos incluidos._
>_We prepared everything for the grill. We made a salad, Jenny made guacamole, and Mau prepared a cake and gelatin to complete the celebration. The men took care of grilling everything while the women sat down to talk. By 9 p.m. everything was ready, and we sat down to dinner. We enjoyed a delicious barbecue with everything, and there was even some leftover food to take to work the next day. It was definitely a unique and special celebration, and in this way, we also accompanied Mrs. Mora on her special day, making her feel loved, including gifts._
