_Collage_ is an artistic technique that brings together certain objects and makes them **reborn** in a new work. Paintings, magazines, newspapers, photographs and labels are some elements of composition, however, _collage_ does not admit norms and offers the possibility of assembling graphic languages of different natures to give life to magnificent works.

Although it is well known that _collage_ was consolidated as an artistic technique at the beginning of the 20th century, there is a perennial discussion about its invention. Some believe that its inventor was Picasso in 1912 with his painting [_Still Life with Grid Chair_](https://www.pablopicasso.org/images/paintings/still-life-with-chair-caning.jpg), while others claim that it was Georges Braque with his work [_Tête de femme_](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/5e/44/db/5e44db98c9d4e160bbba3c67a9c7f3f4.jpg), created in the same year.

The truth is that both cubists discovered the **great expressive potential of _collage_**, as well as its infinite possibilities. Similarly, this finding gave free rein to the creativity and ingenuity of dadaists, futurists and exponents of _pop art_, artists such as Juan Gris, Carlo Carrá, Giacomo Balla, Hans Arp, Marcel Duchamp, Hanna Hoch and Kurt Schwitters.

Today, more than a century later, _collage_ is reinvented. Digital design programs, image banks and creative resources offer **endless possibilities** of fusion, and the new generation of artists uses these tools to create super attractive works.

The best thing about _collage_ is that **it’s not about cutting and pasting**. It is a way of listening to what the elements have to say, to **revive them** in a discourse full of new meanings.
Lo mejor del _collage_ es que **nunca se ha tratado de cortar y pegar**. Fue y es, ante todo, una manera de escuchar lo que aún tienen que decir los elementos, para **revivirlos** en un discurso plagado de nuevos significados.
