Gwiazdosz frędzelkowaty gwiazdorzy w promieniach słońca
I actually struggled with deciding which tag to use to write an article about this mushroom species. A tag about mushrooms would have been most appropriate, but due to the uniqueness and interesting structure of this mushroom, I decided to include it here.
W zasadzie to miałem problem, pod jakim tagiem napisać artykuł o tym gatunku grzyba. Najbardziej pasowałby tag o grzybach, ale ze względu na unikatowość i ciekawą konstrukcję tego grzybka, postanowiłem go umieścić tutaj.
This mushroom is interesting because it's unlike any other. It has no cap, no stem, and looks as if it came to us from another planet.
Grzyb jest o tyle ciekawy, że nie jest podobny do innych. Nie ma kapelusza, nie ma nóżki, i wygląda jakby przyleciał do nas z innej planety.
This isn't the case, however. It's a mushroom native to our land and, contrary to appearances, quite common. However, not everyone knows where to find it, and its structure and coloring closely resemble its surroundings. If it weren't for the specific light that fell on this particular mushroom that day, I probably wouldn't have noticed it either.
Tak jednak nie jest, to grzyb żyjący na naszej ziemi i wbrew pozorom dość popularny. Nie każdy jednak wie gdzie go szukać, a jego budowa i kolorystyka bardzo upodabnia się do otoczenia. Gdyby nie specyficzne światło, które akurat tego dnia padało właśnie na tego grzybka, prawdopodobnie też bym go nie zauważył.
Thanks to the sun, I managed to capture this extraordinary work of nature in my photos, and the photos I took turned out a bit artistic in their own way. The mushroom I'll be writing about today is the fringed starflower (Geastrum fimbriatum).
Dzięki słońcu więc, udało mi się uwiecznić na zdjęciach niezwykłe dzieło natury, a do tego zdjęcia które wykonałem wyszły na swój sposób trochę artystycznie. Grzyb o którym dzisiaj napiszę to Gwiazdosz frędzelkowaty (Geastrum fimbriatum).
The mushroom lacks a classic cap. The fruiting body is spherical, closed, and reaches a maximum diameter of 3 cm. The color of the fruiting body is beige, sometimes gray-brown, or dark brown.
Grzyb nie posiada klasycznego kapelusza. Owocnik ma kulisty kształt, jest zamknięty osiągając maksymalnie 3 cm średnicy. Kolor owocnika jest beżowy, czasami szarobrązowy, ciemnobrązowy.
What surrounds it and looks like a star (hence the name of this species) is the so-called outer covering called exoperidium.
To co go otacza i wygląda jak gwiazda (stąd też nazwa tego gatunku) to tak zwana osłona zewnętrzna zwana egzoperydium.
As the fungus grows and develops, the exoperidium splits in several places, forming triangular petals that, with age, open and curve downward. Rarely, but occasionally, the petals curve upward, forming a flower-like calyx.
W trakcie wzrostu i rozwoju grzyba egzoperydium pęka w kilku miejscach tworząc trójkątne płatki, które z wiekiem rozchylają się i wyginają ku dołowi. Rzadko, ale zdarza się, że płatki wyginają się ku górze tworząc jakby kielich przypominający kwiat.
The mushroom is quite common, growing singly or in groups, and can be found in almost every type of forest, whether deciduous, coniferous, or mixed. It is found on virtually every continent, and the species itself has more than a dozen varieties. It is inedible, but not poisonous.
Grzyb jest dosyć powszechny, rośnie pojedynczo lub gromadnie i można go spotkać niemalże w każdym rodzaju lasów, w liściastych, iglastych czy też mieszanych. Znajdowany jest praktycznie na wszystkich kontynentach, a sam gatunek ma kilkanaście odmian. Jest grzybem niejadalnym, ale nie jest trujący.
