Books have the power to transport us back in time, to take us to unusual places and sites, thus satisfying the great desire to explore the world.I've discovered that and much more in books; each one has left me with a new experience. Books keep us company, entertain us, and even comfort us... Ah, but the best part is the teaching they provide.
Of all the books I've read over the years, there's one I owe a great deal to, because it prepared me for life and its details... The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery, a writer and aviator by profession.
Antoine participated as a combat pilot in World War II and died in a plane crash while on a reconnaissance flight over southern France.
The first lesson I learned from The Little Prince is right in the dedication: to Léon Westh when he was a child, because the author gives three excuses for doing so: for being his best friend, for understanding everything, even children's books, even though he was older, and for suffering from hunger and cold, yet never forgetting the child he was.
That's right, we can never forget the child we were; the joy, dreams, and fantasy necessary for continuing to live would be erased from us.
A pilot crashes in the middle of a desert, his plane breaks down, and when he least expects it, he hears a child's soft voice asking him for a drawing... a blond, extraordinary boy from his asteroid B-612, completely unfamiliar with planet Earth. So, in their exchange, questions rained down, without him answering the pilot's questions about his existence.
Their many questions in this beautiful encounter address special themes of the human soul through friendship and love.
This story made me delve deeper into the importance of understanding the world around us.How disappointed the little prince is when, as he travels through various asteroids, he discovers characters who don't exactly share the same values and principles as this curious child.
Without a doubt, one of the best encounters is when he meets the fox. She helps him understand the concept of domestication and, with him, that the true value of things lies in what you have done for them, in your care and dedication. This is precisely what makes them special and unique in the world.
That's where he discovers the value of his rose, what made her different from the rest: her love, her determination, and the long hours dedicated to her well-being.
Before leaving, the fox gives him a secret, which in turn becomes a paradigm for future generations. Here I share it with you: "You only see clearly with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eyes."
Then this little prince marches back to his asteroid, in a painful manner; he is bitten by a rattlesnake, showing the pilot before leaving that he can find him every night in the sky looking at a large star. There he will laugh and remember everything he experienced with his friend.
Today I read every page of this wonderful work to my little boy, instilling in him the values of friendship, responsibility, love, and most importantly, that even if he becomes a great man in the future, he will never forget the child he once was.

Lindo día para todos los amantes de los buenos libros. Hoy les mostraré la obra que me enseñò el maravilloso mundo de la literatura. Sigue conmigo y descubrámosla juntos.
Los libros tienen el poder de transportarnos en el tiempo, llevarnos por lugares y sitios insólitos, saciando así el gran deseo de conocer el mundo. He descubierto en los libros eso y mucho más, cada uno me ha dejado una experiencia nueva. Los libros nos acompañan, nos divierten y hasta nos consuelan.. Ah, pero lo mejor es la enseñanza que nos prodiga.
De tantos libros que he hojeado en mis años de vida, hay uno que le debo demasiado, porque me ha preparado para la vida y sus detalles…El principito de Antoine de Saint Exúpery; escritor y aviador de profesión.
Antoine participó como piloto de combate en la Segunda Guerra Mundial y muere victima de un accidente aéreo, cuando realizaba un vuelo de reconocimiento por el sur de Francia.
La primera lección que atrapé del principito está justamente en la dedicatoria: a Leòn Westh cuando era niño, porque el autor da tres escusas para hacerlo:por ser su mejor amigo, porque aún siendo mayor comprende todo hasta los libros para niños,padeció de hambre y frío y que jamás olvidó el niño que fue .
Así es, nunca podemos olvidar el niño que hemos sido, se borraría en nosotros la alegría, los sueños y la fantasía, necesarias para seguir viviendo.
Un piloto cae en medio de un desierto, su avión sufre una avería y cuando menos lo espera, escucha una suave voz de niño pidiéndole un dibujo… un caballerito rubio y extraordinario que provenía de su asteroide B-612, desconociendo en su totalidad al planeta tierra, por lo que en su intercambio se llovían las preguntas, sin contestarle él, las que hacía el piloto acerca de su existencia.
De sus tantas preguntas en este hermoso encuentro se abordan temas especiales del alma humana a través de la amistad y el amor.
Este cuento me hizo profundizar acerca de la importancia de conocer el mundo que nos rodea. Qué decepción la del principito cuando al recorrer varios asteroides descubre personajes que no precisamente comparten los mismos valores y principios que este curioso niño.
Sin duda alguna uno de los mejores encuentros es cuando conoce a la zorra, ella le hace entender el concepto de domesticar y con él además, que el verdadero valor de las cosas está en lo que has echo por ellas, en su cuidado y dedicación , justamente es lo que las hace especial y únicas en el mundo.
Allí es donde descubre entonces el valor de su rosa, lo que la hacía diferente al resto; su amor, su empeño y las largas horas entregadas para su bienestar.
Antes de marcharse la zorra le regala un secreto, que a la vez se convierte en el paradigma para futuras generaciones. Aquí se los comparto: “ Solo se ve bien con el corazón .Lo esencial es invisible para los ojos”
Luego este pequeño príncipe marcha de regreso hacia su asteroide, de una manera dolorosa; es mordido por una serpiente cascabel, mostrándole antes de irse al piloto ,que puede encontrarlo todas las noches en el cielo mirando una gran estrella, allí reirá y recordará todo lo vivido con su amigo.
Hoy leo cada página de esta maravillosa obra a mi pequeño niño, inculcándole el valor de la amistad, la responsabilidad, el amor y lo más importante, que a pesar de que en un futuro se convierta en un gran hombre jamás olvide el niño que fue.
