🌸Hola Comunidad HIVE🌸
Hello HIVE Community
Happy Monday, friends of @needleworkmonday. Today is a joyful day for me as I celebrate my name day, and like every year, I am dedicated to creating the costume to dress the Virgin of the Valley, Patron Saint of Eastern Venezuela, as she celebrates her Nativity, a very important holiday in our country, respecting, as always, the religious beliefs of each person, as I always mention among my acquaintances. Like every year, it is exciting to decide on the color and decoration I will use. This year, I went for old rose and white because I saw a dress like that and I liked it. Even though I had a trip planned, I couldn't not do it, so in a day and a half I managed to do it, and here I show you the result and the process of its creation.
---

I cut two bell-shaped pieces, one in old rose, which is the predominant color, and one in white, which will be part of the front. This is to break up the pink and also to make the details stand out more.---

The next step was to sew the white and pink pieces together and then make the hem. For the hem on the bell-shaped cuts, I first make a single fold around the entire contour and then fold it again and sew it again, as I can't get the hem right in one go because in some parts, given the circumference of the cut, it ends up wrinkled and ugly, but this way it doesn't.---

Then I made a cut in the chest area, which I reinforced with fabric on the inside with a straight stitch.---

This year I went with sublimated prints. I chose two images, a large one to place in the center and a smaller one repeated on the sides. I had them printed on micro peach fabric and then cut them into circles to glue them to the costume with fabric glue.---

To complete the decoration, I glued the lace vertically in the center front and around the images, using two types of gold lace, one thicker than the other. I also glued gold cord on the sides from bottom to top, shaping it according to my creativity. To reinforce the glue, I then sewed simple stitches by hand over the lace so that when the dress is washed, the glue, although very good for this job, will hold the decoration in place and it will not fall off.---

So I have finished this beautiful dress that our Virgin Del Valle is wearing today in our building.--- Espero haya sido de su agrado este proyecto de costura para celebrar una devoción hacia alguien que significa mucho para todos aquellos que tienen esta devoción. Saludos amigos y nos leemos pronto.
I hope you enjoyed this sewing project celebrating devotion to someone who means so much to all those who share this devotion. Best wishes, friends, and see you soon.
