It emerged in the 19th century in the city of Santiago de Cuba, thanks to Cuban José Pepé Sánchez with "Tristezas," which also gave rise to the classic instrumental accompaniment of guitars and percussion. Without a doubt, "Sabor a mí" is one of those songs that, just listening to its melody, lifts you to another world, and that's precisely what I feel when I sing it. I must say that I chose this song among so many very popular boleros, and other Cuban ones, because I loved it when I first heard it sung by the Trío Los Panchos alongside Eydie Gurmé. Those harmonies between the voices, the guitars, and the lyrics of the song left me madly in love, with a taste of it, like the song itself. Furthermore, this genre is one of my favorites, because it's Cuban, just like traditional song and son, which I must also say, all come hand in hand; it's like a kind of complex, that is, from one came the other and so on. Cuban music is impressive, and even more so the traditional kind, the kind we sometimes tend to call old, but which even today, in the 21st century, there are artists who interpret it as if it were in those times, where love and romantic lyrics prevailed in society. Una de las canciones más bellas de todo el universo, un clásico de la música romántica en español. Me pregunto, ¿quién no la conocerá?, porque ha sido tan aclamada e interpretada por tantos grandes artistas, que es casi imposible no reconocerla al escuchar los primeros acordes de su bella melodía. Un saludo, Music, yo soy Mariflautacubana, quien les interpretará a voz y flauta "Sabor a mí" .
Antes que nada hablemos del bolero, género musical de origen cubano y declarado Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad en Cuba y México, pero que comparte su nombre con el bolero español, danza surgida en el siglo XVIII, y no tienen que ver nada una con la otra. Surge por el siglo XIX, en la ciudad de Santiago de Cuba de la mano del cubano José Pepé Sánchez con "Tristezas", quien dió origen también al clásico acompañamiento instrumental de guitarras y percusión. Pero no es hasta el último tercio de este siglo que el bolero llega a La Habana, donde representantes como Alberto Villalón y Sindo Garay rápidamente lo expandieron por México y toda latinoamérica. Evolucionó de música de cantinas y peñas a música de serenatas, y su temática romántica lo hizo aceptable para todas las clases sociales. Hablando de temáticas, una breve historia: "cuando entre trago y trago de coñac besaba a su prometida, esta le recriminó que con tanto beso y beso la estaba emborrachando, a lo que él respondió: "Ahora, llevarás sabor a mí" . Así comienza la historia del bolero más hermoso, creado de la mano del compositor y cantante mexicano Álvaro Carrillo, quien nos transmitió la idea de creer en la eternidad del amor y su capacidad para perdurar más allá de la vida misma. Más tarde la aparición de nuevastecnologías como la radio, las grabaciones en nuevos formatos y sobre todo el cine mexicano provocaron que este género se diera a conocer mundialmente.
Sin dudas "Sabor a mí" es una de esas canciones que con sólo escuchar su melodía, te eleva a otro mundo, y es precisamente lo que siento cuando la canto. He de decir que escogí esta canción entre tantos boleros muy populares, y otros cubanos, porque me encantó cuando la escuché por primera vez en las voces del Trío Los Panchos junto a Eydie Gurmé, esas armonías entre las voces, las guitarras y la letra de la canción me dejaron como loca enamorada, con sabor a ella, como la propia canción. Además este género es uno de los que más me gustan, por ser cubano, al igual que la canción tradicional y el son, que también debo decir, todos vienen de la mano, es como una especie de complejo, es decir, de uno salió el otro y así. Es impresionante la música cubana, y más la tradicional, la que a veces solemos llamar antigua, pero que aún hoy, en el siglo XXI, quedan artistas que la interpretan como si fuera en aquellos tiempos, donde el amor, y las letras románticas primaban en la sociedad.
