Este sábado veinte de septiembre estuvo de cumpleaños la hija de mi querida sobrina, su primer añito de vida. Así que me entusiasmé y me puse de acuerdo con mi hermano mayor y mi sobrino y, nos fuimos a la celebración. El festejo tuvo lugar en una casa del casco histórico de la ciudad de Cumaná, cerca de la iglesia Santa Inés, la cual alquilan para este tipo de festividades. Mi sobrina junto con su esposo quisieron hacer algo diferente, ya que esta casa tiene piscina, un parque de diversión y algunas áreas verdes para que los muchachos se diviertan y pasen un momento agradable.
This Saturday, September 20, was my beloved niece's daughter's birthday, her first year of life. So I got excited and made plans with my older brother and nephew, and we went to the celebration. The party took place in a house in the historic district of the city of Cumaná, near the Santa Inés church, which they rent for this type of celebration. My niece and her husband wanted to do something different, since this house has a swimming pool, an amusement park, and some green areas for the kids to have fun and enjoy themselves.
Al llegar allá eran eso de las dos de la tarde, aunque la invitación estaba pautada para las 11 de mañana. Se me hizo un poco difícil estar a la hora debido a que me encontraba de reposo por la extracción de una pieza dental. Sin embargo, planifiqué por lo menos compartir un rato de alegría, ya que teníamos varios meses que no nos encontramos.
When I got there, it was around two in the afternoon, even though the invitation was scheduled for 11 in the morning. It was a little difficult for me to be on time because I was recovering from a tooth extraction. However, I planned to at least share a moment of joy, since we hadn't seen each other in several months.
Todo estaba decorado con motivos infantiles: algunos niños disfrutando de la piscina, otros corriendo por espacios, otros disfrutando del parque, en fin la diversión de todo niño. Yo me reuní con mi hermana y hermano a conversar un rato, luego se agregó mi sobrina y nos pusimos a recordar algunas anécdotas, tomar fotografías y disfrutar con los demás niños de todos los juegos que realizaron: la piñata, la torta y todas las golosinas que se encontraban en el lugar.
Everything was decorated with children's motifs: some children enjoying the pool, others running around, others enjoying the park—in short, everything that children enjoy. I met up with my sister and brother to chat for a while, then my niece joined us and we started reminiscing about some old stories, taking pictures, and enjoying all the games the other children were playing: the piñata, the cake, and all the sweets that were there.
Me encanto haber compartido con la familia un buen rato, todo fue divertido en compañía de todos ellos. Esperando que estos momentos de compartir familiar vuelvan repetirse, ya que estos instantes son los que nos llenan interiormente grandemente.
I loved spending quality time with the family; everything was fun in their company. I hope these moments of family togetherness will happen again, as they fill us with such inner joy.
