Mi Mascota Zimba./My pet Zimba.

Hoy les traigo algunas anécdotas de mi nueva mascota Zimba, hijo de una gata la que traje a casa de mi hermana un domingo. Esta gata a mi hermana le tomó mucho cariño, a pesar de que a ella no le gustan mucho las hembras, prefiere los gatos machos. Ella dice que al aceptar las hembras se le complica la situación a hora de que estas salgan preñadas, porque luego hay que buscar para esterilizarlas. Igualmente, refiere que dejar gatitos en manos de otras personas que no lo sepan cuidar o que los dejen tirados esperando que alguien se conduela y los adopte, no le hace sentir bien.

Today I bring you some anecdotes of my new pet Sugar, son of a cat that I brought to my sister's house one Sunday. My sister became very fond of this cat, even though she doesn't like females very much, she prefers male cats. She says that accepting the females complicates the situation when they get pregnant, because then you have to look to sterilize them. She also says that leaving kittens in the hands of other people who do not know how to take care of them or who leave them lying around waiting for someone to take care of them and adopt them, does not make her feel good.

Esta gata llamada Blanquita con los meses quedó preñada y tuvo cuatro crías, tres hembras y un macho. Dos de estos eran muy blancos, parecidos a ella por su color blanco. Al principio parecían siamés, pero después de pasado un mes los dos fueron alcanzando otro color, un beige claro, muy lindo; uno de ellos era el macho. Así que hablé con mi esposo y mi hermana, la idea de traerme el macho a mi casa a pesar de que tengo dos gatas en casa ya adultas. Lo único que temía era que no lo fueran a aceptar.

This cat named Blanquita became pregnant after a few months and had four kittens, three females and one male. Two of them were very white, similar to her because of their white color. At the beginning they looked like Siamese, but after a month they both reached another color, a light beige, very nice; one of them was the male. So I talked with my husband and my sister, the idea of bringing the male to my house even though I have two adult cats at home. The only thing I was afraid of was that they would not accept him.

Hace dos semanas que ya lo tenemos en casa. Los primeros días lloraba mucho, ya que extrañaba a su madre, sentía su ausencia, se paraba en la puerta y lloraba, buscando a ver si la veía y nosotros buscando las maneras de tranquilizarlo. Cuando escuchaba un gato maullar en el techo, se paraba recto, levantaba su colita y miraba hacia arriba como señal de que allí estaba su madre.

We have had him home for two weeks now. The first days he cried a lot, because he missed his mother, he felt her absence, he stood at the door and cried, looking to see if he could see her and we were looking for ways to calm him down. When he heard a cat meowing on the ceiling, he would stand up straight, raise his tail and look up as a sign that his mother was there.

Hoy en día ya se siente más en confianza con nosotros. Todo el día se la pasa jugando, todo para él representa un juguete. Después de jugar mucho, realiza largos periodos de sueño. Algunas veces no lo conseguimos porque busca otros lugares, y se esconde. De las dos gatas adultas que hay en casa, se adaptó solo una, porque la otra es muy rebelde. Con la siamesa juega, la fastidia, le anda su cola hasta que ella se fastidia y se va a dormir a otro lugar. Con la otra todavía no ha hecho amistad. Es una mascota muy hábil y eléctrica, se mira en el espejo, y se engrifa al ver la imagen de él mismo, como que si se tratara de otro gato, camina por toda la casa, experimentando y conociendo todos sus espacios.

Nowadays he feels more confident with us. He spends the whole day playing, everything is a toy for him. After playing a lot, he sleeps for long periods of time. Sometimes we don't succeed because he looks for other places and hides. Of the two adult cats at home, only one has adapted, because the other one is very rebellious. She plays with the Siamese, teases her, walks her tail until she gets annoyed and goes to sleep somewhere else. She hasn't made friends with the other one yet. He is a very clever and electric pet, he looks at himself in the mirror, and he gets mad when he sees the image of himself, as if he were another cat, he walks all over the house, experimenting and knowing all its spaces.

En fin, este gatico es muy especial. Mi esposo y yo, lo queremos mucho, ya que alegra nuestra vida.

Anyway, this kitten is very special. My husband and I love him very much, because he makes our life happy.
